I am happy to find this group.  My youngest son just became a member of the Texas Army National Guard yesterday.  The military is a new experience for me.  My Dad was in WW1 and WW2, but that was before I was born.  This is going to be a very scary experience for me as a mother.  He will go off to boot camp after his wedding in September.  I would very much like to get involved with this groups postcard activities.

been a long few weeks! Joel left for boot camp, 7 am feb 8th, Eva, my granddaughter was born at 7:30 pm! She was 4 weeks early, weighed 5# 3oz and 18 in. She had her surgery and all went well. Dr.'s said she would be in hosp. for at least 2 mo. She came home in 3 weeks! They called her a miracle baby! Thanks for your prayers!
She is home and doing well she is up to 6# 10 oz and 19 in. She is just beautiful.
As for Joel, He has been in training for 5 weeks. His graduation will be delayed for 6-8 weeks due to stress fractures in his right leg and left foot, along with shin splints in both legs. He is very disappointed. I reminded him it is all in God's timing, and everything happens for a reason to take full advantage of this 'time off' from training and work at what they give him. You never know where it will lead you!
As for me I am waiting to see an orthopedic surgeon, I tore my ACL and will be having surgery asap:( But, on the bright side...I hope to have time to sew again!!!
I will be off work for 6 mo for rehab. I only have 12 wks. medical leave, so I may not have a job to go back too. so, I too, am reminded..It's all in God's timing! hehe, a taste of my own advise!. hope all is well with everyone and their families. seems as though I am the only one posting anymore!
My daughters boyfriend, Jacob, will be deployed to Japan in July.
Thanks for listening!

just another update...Our son, Joel, goes to Marines boot camp on Feb 9th, my daughters boyfriend, Jacob, is about to finish his training and find out where he will be deployed to.
My daughter who is pregnant will be delivering very soon. We are going weekly for ultra sounds, watching a few more problems have come up, so are keeping close watch and praying she can carry the baby until it's lungs are developed enough. They will do a c-section, hopefully around 10th of feb unless the baby is in distress or her problems progress to fast. Baby Eva will have surgery asap after she is born. please remember us all in your prayers! Thanks so much.

Update on my daughters pregnancy. The Nov. 3rd ultrasound showed the signs of Downs has disappeared, and that the chances of her having any other problems is at 1/2 % ! We are very hopefull! Her surgery and recovery will be long, all of her small intestines are outside of her tummy, and there are a few dead places that will have to be resected. But, this is all fixable with time! Thanks for your prayers...God is listening and blessing us all!

Tamie,

Will pray for your precious granddaughter. My friend's son was born with this condition. Matthew is a healthy young man studying to be a priest! They can fix this.
