Hi, everyone! I've been wrapped up in local doings for Easter and couldn'tget back to the computer. Marjorie, it sounds as though you were here in BE at the Presbyterian campground. I went to that event last year and was warmly received. Isn't it funny how different groups at these things will react differently? I'm now attending a guild in a nearby town and am reserving judgement. I knew a couple or three women and
I hope it will work out.

I'm starting a quilt top for my summer donation quilt group. I call it "The Magical Hole in the Barn Door" and fussy-cut the center block from novelty fabrics. I'm trying to do a boy's quilt, a girl's quilt and a toddler's quilt. I also want to make another "One Fish Two Fish". I did that one last summer and loved it.

The not-so-local WalMart in Boone has started carrying jellrolls and fat quarters! I bought a 'roll for $20 and have no idea what I'm going to do with it. Since I hate rotary cutting (because I'm very poor at it!) the idea of jellyrolls is very attractive to me.

I also ordered a bunch of q

Happymrs, we visited Asheville Cotton Company's new store last year on our way home from the Asheville Quilt Show. I love their new location...so much more room for fabric and classes. We had lunch at the Italian restaurant next door...it was really good too!

forgot to say at Grandfather Mountain, a great campground!

Marjorie...We have been to VW bus campouts, at Grandfather, & ventured into Blowing Rock. Charming little town there, with some lovely shops & restaurants, & Kilwin's Ice Cream shop, yum! We have one in Asheville now, downtown, so that's a nice addition here! Asheville Cotton Company is a great quilt shop too. I go to quilt club there, once a month now, & am really enjoying it! They moved last year, so if it has been awhile since you have been there, be sure & check out their online site, for location!

It's cloudy, rainy, and dreary here today too. Would be a great day to be at home quilting, but...alas, I must work to help support my quilt habit. Yesterday was the most beautiful Easter Sunday....sunny, cloudless sky, warm.
Happymrs, we live about 30 miles south of Blowing Rock (about 10 miles north of Hickory). I love the Asheville area. You have a great quilt shop (Asheville Cotton Company) and of course the Asheville Quilt Show (I've gone for the last 6-7 years). My husband and I love to go up and eat breakfast at the Moose Cafe, then wander around the Asheville Farmers Market.

Hmm, forgot, lol, I don't know where that Cleaning Fairy hides out either, never see much of here around here!

You do it all in one day at your house, Becky? No wonder you need a break! Empty nester here, so I do a little as I feel like it, or not, lol!

Good luck & don't overdo!

Ugh....today is housecleaning/laundry day. I don't know why the cleaning fairy doesn't stop by here!! I would give her a good cup of coffee and dig up some cookies or something!! I am taking a break which has turned into much too long, so I have to get back at it. I'll check in during my afternoon break! :)

Good Morning everyone! Yesterday wasn't bad here in western NC, but this morning our cloudy, rainy weather is back too. I miss the sun! Might be a good day to quilt, once I wake up enough, lol.. What's everyone else up to?

Hi WV girl! I'm so glad you joined. Did y'all have bad storms last night? The storm part stayed south of us, but we did get a little rain. Today has been so dreary until about half an hour ago.......and now we have some SUN!! Whoopee! I'm sick of this "unspring" weather.....it's depressing. Welcome, Terri!
