Hello all! For those of you near the Johnson City area- check out the new and improved Hancock Fabrics- though still in a state of chaos today when I was there.  I was impressed with their larger selection of cotton fabric and while I am still a fan of JoAnns better (and hope to see one even closer than Ashville), I will find myself going to the JC store more often. They even managed to make it a little less cluttered while adding apparently more fabric.

Hi all:

Just wanted to stop in and let you know I'm still here.  Summer is really busy at work and things are just now starting to slow down.  I work for Appalachia Service Project in Johnson City.  I did finish a Hoopsisters Mystery quilt this summer.  I've hung it in my office at work.  Looks great.  Anyway hope everyone else has had a great summer.

I had wanted to do the Sat Darlene Zimmerman class but it was full when I went to sign up- as it turned out i didn't even go to the quilt show part as my SIL and granddgtrs made a suprise visit that weekend. I see Becky may be teaching a class at our guild sometime and hope to attend depending on schedule.  Other than working on these block swapper blocks and the CountryJunction mini wall ahgnings- I'm not getting much else accomplished.

My summer was so busy and it flew by. Now, all my boys are in school, with the littlest starting Kindergarten this week. Whew! Anyway, nothing is slowing down, it's a mad slide to Christmas now. My mom is coming from Oregon to visit Wed and will be here 12 days, then my sister is coming from Alabama to pick up my mom and take her home with her for a week or so. I have too many responsibilities this year, with church, PTA, guild...busy, busy, and my heart's desire is to be in the sewing room, quilting. I will be scheduling that in!

I'm here. Did any of you go to Quiltfest? I took two great classes. One with Lenore Crawford which I enjoyed except for the painting part at the end,I am not a painter. Really enjoyed my hand applique class with Karen Kay Buckley. Did a little bit of traveling this summer and now am settling in with my new sewing machine and getting ready to quilt some charity quilts on my Sweet Sixteen.

I was thinking of you all just the other day, it has been a long time hasn't it?  It's good that we all keep busy, now that summer is coming to a close we can start with our favorite hobby again.  Nothing new here at my house, my daughter & husband coming in from Tx. for a visit so I am looking forward to that.  Have fun, hope to hear from you all soon.

My goodness, ladies. It's been 3 months without a comment. Are you all still there?

I am planning hopefully to go next weekend but someone from work was there last weekend- it's just as big as the one in Knoxville but a different layout.

I'm thinking a road trip to a fabric store with the boys will not be fun...but they go back to school in August, so I can wait patiently until then...haha!
