HI Ginette, welcome, this is a great place to keep in touch with the Canadian Contigent. Are you missing us with all this talk of snow LMAO.
It was really nice yesterday and the sun is shining a bit this morning but I have it on good authority that it is going to change shortly. And then more SNOW whoopee.

Hi ! My name is Ginette. I am retired and up to last August, lived in four different provinces in Canada. Last summer my husband got transferred to Georgia in the US and we will be living here for the next five years or so. We plan to return to Canada to retire in Nova Scotia, where our son, DIL and granddaughter live. I have only been quilting for the last five years. I am totally addicted and love to learn different techniques.
I am planning to join a guild in my new area. I look forward to keeping in touch with other quilters from Canada.

Welcome, Chrissie, Marlene, Lori and Beth, glad to meet all of you. Jamut I am working on a pattern called Gypsy Crosses. Last year a group of us went to Chicago (maybe it was the year before I forget LOL) to the Quilt show, while there we came across a booth that was promoting a different ruler with patterns, so we each bought a different pattern and now are getting together to use the rulers and make up the quilts. I finished the center and am about to start the borders.

I'm also from Newfoundland and like the idea of meeting Canadians who quilt! Maybe I can find the names of some great Canadian mail order fabric shops. Connecting Threads is wonderful but the "holding my breath" until I see if the package gets hit by customs is a bit tiresome!

Well, I had a late start today (hurray - slept in after 4 nights of not sleeping well), played some Scrabble on Facebook & am now off to do some quilting. What are you currently working on? I am working on a guild mystery today. If I get this month's part finished, then I am going to work for awhile on the queen Orion Star I am doing for one of two nieces' graduating high school this year. I haven't started the other's quilt yet - I suspect she will be getting an "IOU a quilt" from me but who knows, if I really focus on just those three projects, I might get them done. I am also a member of the UFO group with lots of projects to complete but will probably only work on one UFO along with these - instead of my usual, trying to work on several things at once - getting overwhelmed & putting another UFO project in the cupboard!

Yvonne I think you do very well considering. My philosophy is if I like it then that is all that matters. One thing I like about posting pictures is that everything looks soooo much better LOL. I must admit I am surprized that there aren't more Canadian quilters here, hopefully the word will get around. I have been trying to convince some of my group to get online with this. Gail I loved Duncan, recently scrapbooked my trip to the island and did a big spread on Duncan.

I have lived just outside of Kamloops BC for the past 5 years. Before that I lived in Victoria BC. I still have friends there and my daughter and grandaughter live in Duncan. I love to do most crafts but quilting in particular. As I work full time, time is limited. I have been quilting for about 12 years but still consider myself a beginner.
