I currently live in central Arkansas and am interested in connecting with fellow quilters in the area. Any suggestions for clubs, etc. would be greatly appreciated!

In an effort to try to pull together quilters across Arkansas it would be great to hear about the different quilting groups or gatherings around the state. Let us know about your group!

HI, I have been away from this gropu for a while.

Hi, Jan,  got your message and welcome to the group.  I was out of state last month due to death in the family.  I always bring a hand work for the road and now working on EPP of grandmother's flower garden.  It is still cold and I want spring to sprung.  :)

Hello Jan!  Thanks for the welcome.  I noticed the group didn't have many current post.  But being an AR group I couldn't pass it up.

We had an ice storm Dec. 2000.  I can relate to you being without power, heat, water & lights.  Glad things are back to normal.

I'm currently binding a quilt for Grandson #2 (I have 5).  I am also piecing a Civil War Crossings quilt.  I am teaching myself to machine quilt so I'm practicing on my Grands.  LOL

Hope you are having a great evening.  Karen

Hi Karen B!!  Glad you could join our little group.  I think the others are busy people, not posting much.  I am currently with 3 of my grandkids while their parents are in Hawaii.  We were without power for a couple days and that was an adventure - no heat, no water, no lights!!  But all is back to normal now.

Hello Arkansas Quilters!  I'm Karen and I live in Southwest AR.  I have been quilting for 13 years.  Hoping to meet more quilters in AR.

So glad you got to be here for the Pea Ridge event.  I think they do such a good job with the military park.  Took 3 of our grandkids there a week ago.  They loved it.  We will be going to Crystal Bridges today with the other 4 grandkids.  When you come to visit, but sure to go to "Wonder World", an area inside.  It contains the more "modern" works of art.  All is good.

My husband and I have been discussing a visit there. We were up there for the Pea Ridge Sesquicentennial celebration and are determined to go back to visit the musuem. It would be a nice day trip and it's great to hear that it is worth it!

Hi ladies!!  Happy spring!!  Hope you have been enjoying the weather.

Have any of you been to Bentonville to see Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art?  We have been twice and will go back this weekend.  It is well worth any effort to go see it - something for every interest.  The building is beautiful, the landscaping is on-going and very interesting.  It is so peaceful, nestled in a ravine.  Best of all it is FREE!!  Check it out on the website.

I am doing some quilting on donation quilts for the guild.  I have put the binding on two and have 4 small ones to quilt, bind and label.  I like to do the binding while watching TV.  I am also making some bow-tie blocks for a quilt top from my stash of scraps.  The pattern calls for 208 and I have 63 done.  The blocks are fun, but I need to cut the fabric to make them.

Well I have finally started on a kit I got from Connecting Threads some time ago: Easy Does It, using their line of Sweet Remembrance fabric. I loved that fabric because of the combo of red, aqua, yellow and brown. Anyway, it is a super easy quilt, but once I started cutting I realized I wanted it bigger than the lap size. Now I'm waiting for additional fabric so I can finish! What are you all working on?

CT also has batting on sale until later in Feb.  I don't have a Jo Ann's nearby so can't take advantage of that good sale.
