I am a long time member of "Quilting With Us" (QWU). I used to give virtual workshops here. Like many others, I have ventured out as QWU became more quiet.
We are getting the warning that QWU is at risk of being disabled. I fear this is a sign that QWU will one day be no more.
It has become like family here and the thought of losing the friendships we have developed has giving me a sad heart. Like many dark clouds, there is a silver lining. When I ventured out, I created a quilters social network, much like QWU. I never mentioned it, for it was a conflict of interest. However, in this dark hour, it is time to let others know there is an alternative. It does not have to end here.
I would be honored for QWU members to join "Pattern Pastiche". If needed, we are more than happy to create a group for your new home.

I should stay away from sugar and salt, what does that leave?
I am going to a retreat and in need of a good healthy snack treat. Any ideas?
Sandy.......you didn't realize you were so right by sticking your tongue out at me.......the fishing trip and sewing marathon didn't happen lol I had almost forgotten I had posted that it was so long ago......The weather was snowy and icy, so they didn't take their fishing trip.
Thanks!!!
Welcome Cora, We get busy in the kitchen every once in a while. lol
There are some great dishes here. Hope you try some and add a few also. Let us know how you like them if you do try them, we are always interested to see if you like them as much as we do.
Sandy I know how you feel. It's that way almost everyday. Now I have the grandkids for a week for spring break. They want chicken nuggets everynight. At least it is easy. I think they are starting to look like a nugget. And a week of doing what you want!? You are in heaven girl!~!
enjoy...................
Welcome Cora....it is good to see some activity here again.......I thought everyone had left the kitchen too! I am getting a break from the kitchen next week.....hubby is going fishing for a week.....and I'm not planning on cooking except for frozen stuff from the freezer that can mostly go in the microwave. My plan is to have a sewing marathon all by myself and get some major quilting done.....but of course something else will come up and that won't happen as usual.
I just mixed these up to take to quilt retreat next week-end.....it is to die for and takes about 1 minute......
Hershey's S'more Trail Mix
1 bag Hershey's Milk Chocolate Drops (8 oz)
1 cup mini-graham crackers (Honey Maid Graham Cracker Squares)
1 can 7-8 oz. Roasted/Salted pecan halves
1 cup mini marshmallows
Mix all ingredients together. Place in sealed plastic bag....stays fresh about two weeks.
You can use more crackers & marshmallows to make more--but equal portions is better. Makes about 4 cups.
PS...I hope there is some left to take to the retreat lol
Oh my goodness, I tried the french onion soup that was on here for the slow cooker. All I can say is WOW!!!!!!!! so easy and so wonderfully good!
Thanks - I will :) Just looking at some of the good ones that have been posted...yum!
