I don't know about everybody else but we are all cookie monsters. I ran across this recipe quite a while ago and it sounded just crazy enough to work so of course I had to try it. They were delicious !! Now you will think I have written this wrong but trust me, this is correct.

Cake Mix Cookies

1 box of cake mix--any flavor, chocolate, carrot, spice, lemon, etc.
2 eggs
1/2 cup oil
3/4 c. regular oatmeal

In a large bowl place the oil and the eggs, stir to break up the yolks. Now dump in the dry cake mix and the dry oatmeal. Stir very well until it is all mixed up. Drop by spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet and bake for 8--10 minutes at 350* Then enjoy--and you will 8>)

Butter Tart Filling by Linda Richards/N. Ontario
1 c. corn syrup
2/3 c. butter (margarine)
1 c. brown sugar
2 c. raisins
1 c. walnuts or pecans (optional)
dash salt & nutmeg

Put first 3 ingredients in saucepan and bring to boil. Add rest of ingredients and heat. Cool slightly and add 2 eggs well beaten and mix well. (Make sure mixture is cool enough so as not to cook the eggs.)

Fill tart shells and bake at 375o for 15 min.

This makes at least 3 dozen butter tarts depending on the size.

Mixture can be kept in fridge for a few weeks or can be frozen and taken out when needed. Enjoy!

This recipe is really an old one... It was being made before I was even born! That in itself means it’s old. LOL

1 c. mashed bananas 1 t. soda

Cream butter, sugar and add eggs, then vanilla and banana. Sift dry ingredients and add alternately with sour milk. Bake at 350o for 40 - 45 min. for cake in 8x8 pan. If you double recipe use 3 (8x8) pans. Freezes well with or without fudge icing.

Fudge Icing:
4 Tbsp. margarine 1 c. brown sugar 1/4 c. milk
Put all in saucepan and bring to boil. Take off heat and add 1 c. icing sugar. Beat until spreadable (maybe a min.)
I have made cake mix cookies also but my recipe is slightly different: any flavor cake mix, 1/2 cup oil, two eggs, tablespoon water, one-two tsp. flavoring. Mix and roll into balls on ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten each ball with a fork. They're only in for about 15 minutes and make certain you take them off the cookie sheet right away. When I use a lemon cake mix, I put almond flavoring and almonds, for a chocolate cake mix, I add pecans and chocolate chips. When I need a lot of cookies I use the cake mix method. When I last made chocolate cookies, I used a stencil over each cookie with icing sugar and they were very attractive. Everyone likes them.
next time u go to your guild meeting, bring some button cookies. http://www.bakerella.com/coraline-cookies/
