Recipes to Quilt By

Since we all love to quilt and quilting time is so valuable, I thought it would be nice to share quick and easy recipies that are tried and true. Less time in the kitchen means more time in the sewing room. Prerequisite: quick, easy and YUMMY!

Let's Help Each Other

If you're like me you need help around the house to make more time to quilt. One of my most dreaded chores is to come up with something for dinner. I hear this a lot when I'm with my friends so I know it's not just me. In this group we want to help each other to create more time to quilt so, the prerequisite will be quick and easy, tried and true recipies. You need to rememeber, Martha Stewart doesn't live here. I like some of the things she does, but let's be serious, her recipies are CRAZY. Lots of ingredients and 74 steps. We want EASY, QUICK but most of all YUMMY. Just imagine how happy the family will be after getting a good meal. I know when I feed my hubby a great meal I don't have any guilty feelings about spending several hours quilting, and he kinda leaves me alone. Now that's really the treat. Sooo......let's get started.
If we would all click on "start discussion" and copy/paste your recipe there, we will have them all in the same place and won't have to scroll thru tons of posts to find them.

I have never made the starter, but have made the bread from the starter. In fact I have a starter in the freezer. I did not know it could be frozen, but was assured it would work whenever I wanted to use it. I had forgotten about it being there until I saw your post. It is very good with any flavor of pudding.

I have made some of those pecan pie bars for Thanksgiving tomorrow.  We tried them last year and they were so good.  They have become a family favorite.

Suzanne:  Welcome.  I've personally made many, many of the recipies on the site and there isn't one that wasn't delish.  The mug cake is a favorite for a quick fix for something sweet.  It's not like a traditional cake but a little more spongie...is that's a word.  I've made it vanilla with butter in place of oil and added a little more flour.  I've also added peanut butter chips in place of the choc chips and I've made it with lemon pudding in place of the cocoa and some zest but it didn't turn out so great.  Remember...ice cream makes everything better.  PS  Those peanut butter balls are GREAT too.
