Hello all. I am ready to finish all those UFO before Christmas. Our ball season ended last night. BOB JONES was beaten by Hoover. We were sad and proud of the quality and sportmanship the team exhibited when we lost. The coaches invited Hoover's team, coaches and cheerleaders to come to the center of the field and pray with them. Our team always prays at the end of each game. This a good thing. I have my brown bag project done and wrapped for Chrstmas. I have an embroidery project in the works. It's simple, but i'm a novice. We need a new picture for our group?????

Hi Betty, the leaves are beautiful here, and mostly on the ground. Rain last night brought down a lot of them. I agree with you. I don't like winter. It depresses me so much. I need lots of light and air. I got a class on my new embroidery machine last week. I have a little better understanding of what I'm doing. Now I understand the manual. I'm ready to undertake some project soon. Got to finish Christmas projects first. I am going to learn how to put pictures on the web so I can show off some of my work. My 16 years old grandson's football team is now 13-1 and playing in the state playoffs. After this win coming up on Friday, they will play for the Championship. Keep you fingers crossed for them. Winter has finally hit Alabama! I'm amazed at the change in temperature from yesterday. If I could get by with it, I would just crawl into a cave (my sewing room) and not come out until spring. I hope everyone is well and getting in some quality quilting time.
Reba, how is the new machine working out? I hope you are having fun with it.

Navy Wife. Thanks for your concern about my grandsons. They are fine now. The 16 year old finished his regular season of football with a 9-1 record. They won the 8th region. Next week they start playoffs for the state championship. You know we will be there wherever they go. They have home field advantage for the first 2 games. All three start basketball soon. It never ends. But we are so thankful we are able to go see them play and support them any way we can. They are all we have, except my daughter and son-in-law. Reba

Hey Mrs. Navy Wife. My hip and leg are giving me fits. I am going next week to see the other doctor (he does spines). The celebrex has taken the edge off but at night my hip to knee spasms so bad I can't sleep. Doesn't make for a good day. I have finished my brown bag project for Christmas exchange. I am so proud of me. It turned out better that I thought I could do. I do hope the lady that gets it will be happy. I have some small thing I am going to do using my new embroidery machine. I have been practicing. Just need to pick up some different colors of thread. Happy Halloween to all. Reba

I hope your back gets better. I didn't have much luck with Celebrex. I wish I had. The best thing I've ever taken was Vioxx and they took it off the market. This rain doesn't help much either! We've had so much that we.re alost 11 inches above normal. I must admit that it's better than 15 in. below in 08 and 10 below in 07. Trees and bushes are healthy, and the lakes and rivers are full. We won't have GA trying to steal water out of the Tennessee River!
I'm glad your grandsons are better. Our schools have closed at various times during the year, but so far no serious outbreaks. I remember the oryther swine flu back in the 70's. I had to get a shot cause I was doing Red Cross Volunteer work at the Navy Hospital in Pensacola. I was sick as could be all winter...not flu, but one cold after another. I guess I'll do it again if they get the vaccine. I'm certainly not as healthy as I was then.
I haven't had much time to sew either. Maybe I will when we get away from home in January. Happy Halloween!

So glad you are getting better. Just hang in there. I saw an orthopedic last week with my hip and knee, he decided the problem is coming from my back (boooo). Next month I will see the back ortho if the celebrex hasn't made an 80% improvement. Haven't seen a 50% yet. Got my machine last week. Just practiced threading and playing some. Haven't had time for much. All three of my grandsons have now had the flu (swine?????) They are better and back in school. We have had so much rain, I'm beginning to feel pruney. If we start to wash away, Alabama will go before Tenn. Hang in there with the PT. Reba

Reba, Has the machine come yet? I'm beginning to think everyone in this group has moved or lost their computers! TN is still here, but with all the rain, we're going down for the 3rd time. It has rained all day today, and not just sprinkled! I went back to orthopedics and they are pleased with my progress. I have about 80% of my range of motion back and 50% of my strength. Back to PT again! I think they have a mean streak! I am doing a little sewing and can play piano for about 10 minutes before it starts to hurt. I hope my other thumb/wrist holds out. I don't want to do this again!

Hi AnnaBanana, welcome! Isn't it weird how we were in drought in the south and now we have more rain than we can handle? If you find those quilt shops, maybe they know some other quilters that want to meet at night. They might even let you meet at their shop.
Reba, that is the color photo, it does not photograph well in my house. I wanted it to look dusky, just not that much! It looked more purple at the meeting today, but there was too much of a crowd to get any good pictures. Maybe your machine will come soon.
