Quilt With Us

I knew this was going to be a big topic, but I was surprised how big.  How to narrow it down?!  My original plan was to find all the different block names associated with each star.  I quickly threw out that idea!  The number of names applied to any give blocks was just a bit overwhelming!  So instead I grouped them together by how they are made.

But even that doesn't really work - any pieced block can be machined or hand pieced.  Many can be be foundation paper pieced.  Some can be machine pieced or English Paper Pieced!  I guess it all depends on your preference, your skill level, or the pattern you're following.

Take a look and tell me what you think.  What stars have I missed?  Laura has already mentioned the LeMoyne Star - that's a challenging one!  Anyone have a cool way to piece this without the dreaded puckers from badly made Y seams?

What's your favorite Star block?  And what is you favorite way to make it?

I like the Friendship Star, and make it either traditionally or paper piece it.
I like the Ohio Star because I think it is quite beautiful and not very difficult to make. I have only made it traditionally.
