I am a long time member of "Quilting With Us" (QWU). I used to give virtual workshops here. Like many others, I have ventured out as QWU became more quiet.
We are getting the warning that QWU is at risk of being disabled. I fear this is a sign that QWU will one day be no more.
It has become like family here and the thought of losing the friendships we have developed has giving me a sad heart. Like many dark clouds, there is a silver lining. When I ventured out, I created a quilters social network, much like QWU. I never mentioned it, for it was a conflict of interest. However, in this dark hour, it is time to let others know there is an alternative. It does not have to end here.
I would be honored for QWU members to join "Pattern Pastiche". If needed, we are more than happy to create a group for your new home.

Linda I notice one with soluble stabilizer, I have a roll of that and want to try and make a bowl with all my lovely colourful thread cuttings. Been watching You Tubes about it, will check up above on the forum to see what they use soluble stabilizer for.
Ally there are lots of different techniques up in the discussions, we covered a lot a few years back with our illustrious leader.
Welcome Ally! Your cards are beautiful. We are going to get started on the first of May. April kinda got away from me. Not sure what technique we are going to explore ........ stay tuned!
Just found this group, thanks Sharon. Hoping to learn something new and expand my creative world.

Well, it's 2019. The last post on this group was July 12, 2016......TOO LONG! I'm sure we have all learned a new technique (or two) during this time... OR .... we saw one we would like to explore. I would like to breathe some air into this group. Lets start by making a NEW LIST of possible techniques we want to learn. I have added a discussion up top.
2019 Techniques to Explore. Let's go!
I have just made Jake a Shark to lie in while watching TV and Jess of course wants a mermaid one. Made myself a top and Jess a reversible bucket hat. She is funny about clothes and the dresses I made were never worn. Hope your family trouble resolves soon Cindy,
Making clothes for little girls has turned out to be a lot of fun! Who knew? lol
