Hello Janice from sunny but windy Derbyshire. I'm just going to have a mug of coffee having been blown about on my walk. Then tidy my space and take some photos.
I have signed up to join
It is free to sign up for PP.
Some groups are free to join. They may be a discussion or a workshop. The "Starstruck" group is a free patchwork workshop presented by Bonny Peters of "Cat Den Mountain Quilts".
Some groups are free to join but were created for a workshop, BOM, or mystery that was published in TQPM. You can join the group, but to participate you would need a subscription to the magazine.
Some groups, like "Quilting Weekend", require a subscription to TQPM to join. They are bonus project for TQPM subscribers.
Anyone can request to create a group and they decide the terms to joining their group.
So with the group is it a free group or would it be that you have to have a subscription to the magazine
Many have never heard of TQPM. 8o(
TQPM is small digital magazine run by quilters across the USA and Canada. You can visit the site at http://www.quiltpatternmagazine.com .
I am in the UK so can't always get stuff that people recommend
Also at present I am not quilting as we trying to sell our bungalow to move closer to our children due to health issues
I am looking for inspiration for small items & gifts as while i love to be doing more space is not there now plus i have packed a lot of stuff away
I have never heard of TQPM
"Pattern Pastiche" (PP) was originally created as a place for subscribers of "The Quilt Pattern Magazine" (TQPM) to do workshops, BOMs, and mysterys together with the designer of a publish pattern. About a year ago, we opened PP to all quilters. It is still a private network, but any quilter can join. We now have projects that are not associated with the magazine.
Do you have an specific questions. I am more than happy to answer.
Can you give more info on Pattern Pastiche
Yes i got the message saying about being disable
I am a long time member of "Quilting With Us" (QWU). I used to give virtual workshops here. Like many others, I have ventured out as QWU became more quiet.
We are getting the warning that QWU is at risk of being disabled. I fear this is a sign that QWU will one day be no more.
It has become like family here and the thought of losing the friendships we have developed has giving me a sad heart. Like many dark clouds, there is a silver lining. When I ventured out, I created a quilters social network, much like QWU. I never mentioned it, for it was a conflict of interest. However, in this dark hour, it is time to let others know there is an alternative. It does not have to end here.
I would be honored for QWU members to join "Pattern Pastiche". If needed, we are more than happy to create a group for your new home.
