Thanks Jamee, that is exactly my thinking..I haven't joined the local Quilt Guild yet, because it I has been hard to get away with taking care of DH, then I just had foot surgery, two weeks ago..so at times I do feel isolated..

I am so thankful that you told me about Quiltville..that too has been at fun thing for me and so helpful! I probably have gone overboard in joining all these groups..but you are right.,I keep reaching out for connections, especially now that I have to stay off the foot for 2 months!..that sure is not me..it is a good thing that these pain pills make me rest..or probably that foot would never heal! Thanks for sharing with me!

I did last years...EASY STREET...i still have to add a border though...i want to design an applique one.  but it was fun!  i really like doing things in real time with other quilters...it motivates me, and helps me feel so isolated...

Have any of you ever done one of Bonnie Hunter's Mystery Quilts? Or what do you suggest for me to get my feet wet?

I lived up in Bonnie Lake..off of 410East toward the Mountain..I loved the Ben Franklin Store there..they had a fab. Quilt dept. check it out! And they have their own quilt group!

I live in the Spanaway area of Washington (Pierce County).  I just returned from 2 "working" trips to Medford and Bend Oregon.  The weather in Oregon was phenomenal and I was rather reluctant to return to Washington.  I'm originally from the midwest and there is NO amount of money I'd accept to return there (though I do miss the "seasonal changes and actual thunderstorms/downpour of rain).

To Kathy, I don't know of any quilt shows coming up in Washington State.  However, "diehard quilters" are prepping for the annual Western Washington Shop Hop that occurs 6/19-6/23.  If you (and other West Coast quilters) haven't experienced the Shop Hop, I highly suggest you do so at least once.  It's fun and a great way to visit shops one wouldn't otherwise.

Thanks ladies, those are wonderful ideas..I do have lots of small nephew and nieces! And I know that there is more in that garage..My Julie is a Teacher..loves to buy fabric but no time to sew it!..I don't mind a bit! ( ha,ha)..

Thanks! We are on a roll..my DH is cleaning out garage , since we are now sharing a house..we are an organizational mess..so I has been like Christmas here..My daughter does look for anything..she just buys more stuff..for example we have 8 rose choppers, 22 screw drivers, and the list goes on..Her answer for everything is go buy a new one..Now that Dad is here, she is singing a new tune..clear totes boxes , shelves that go to the ceiling and isles..Like Lowes! Isn't that the way it goes, when someone else does the work?
