Hey - are you talking about me when I'm not in the room?...LOL
Yes, I have 3 dogs, 4 cats, 3 birds (at home, and another 3 birds at school) and a lizard. The canary does get a lot of stares, but he seems pretty used to it. He's in the bathroom between the toilet and the tub in a large cage that can't be knocked over by the cats. The dogs ignore the birds - Oliver is an Amazon that is a bit intimidating when he wants to be. Even my cockatiels hold their own against the cats - the birds hiss at them! Quite the site to see. lol (Oh, and regarding the mess, there is a new style of cage on market that really controls the mess - I LOVE them. Canary used to leave a huge mess in bathroom, but not anymore. I think the brand name is Vision.

I have a SunConure. I got a water heater pan to put under his cage. And up off the floor. He make noise only when someone drives up. If my husband takes a nap he doesn't make a sound. But, in the morning he gets his treats and he will call you to come in if your not awake an hour past your coffee time. Then he gets his almond. I do Lindy would like to get another dog. But, I worry about it hurting my birds feelings. Or he would be to afraid. But, someone on this site has birds and dogs and cats. What a gal!

my grandparents, had parakeets theirs even had a baby, their names were queenie (the girl of course, )sparky the male, and peewee was the baby.
I had cockatiels for about 5 years, now they are messy, had a mr and a mrs and some eggs, well they all hatched, got 6 babies, talk about a noisy house, tried to keep the male from the female as are like rabbits having babies all the time, do not even need a nesting house, bottom of cage will do, so had 3 big cages a carpenter friend made for me, got some of that clear heavy fabric stuff at walmart lined the bottom 8 inches of each cage for the feathers and seed flying. helped alot, finally just got fed up and gave them all away, do not miss them at all. have the outside birds now, and 2 fake parakeets in a cage that can turn on and will make noise like areal one when I feel the urge to buy another bird, solves that problem.... one is nice , but more are a hassle.

I had a parakeet and a couple of zebra finches. We had a cat at the same time. What a zoo! The cat would sit next to the cage and ogle the birds. They would flap their wings and the cat would run. When the boys would get in a squabble, the parakeet would join in and scold them and bob his head. I don't know if he was yelling at them or joining in on the argument. Either way, it was funny. And, yes, what a mess! Birdseed everywhere. Oh, the good old days!

Thanks Ruthann, I posted it around CT in a few places, I now have 3 parakeets, they are tiny, but messy, seems I'm vac every day around their cage. I wanted a dog or a cat and my DH wouldn't give the go ahead, he wishes he would have now they are so messy but he's getting use to them. A cat would eat these tiny tiny parakeets, they seems smaller than others, but I guess they are growing.

that song and video about the cat was awesome, was like rap with alot of humor, was true but where would we be without our comical pets to brighten our day for sure... loved it, thanks for posting..

Lindy, I loved it. My DS is a cat lover, so I sent it to him.
So much truth there. But that's the stuff that makes us love our cats.

For anyone. I love Genesis. I put the question in for anyone. When I was young they use to say," Marry who you could live on a island." Now at my age I say, "Marry someone you can live with anywhere in the world." But, I put that question to myself when being Jewish I found the rest of the story. What would I take with me if I had to face being put on an island like John. So, my "OR" would be Philippians. I just thought of having some more to talk about when we do meet someday.
