The pink shelf is my $5.00 garage sale bargain. I painted it pink to match the curtains and still need to finish the front curtain on the bottom. I have that fabric and it is pink with big fat white polka dots. yum
I am not quite sure how to add more than one picture in the same comment so I am going to send a few pictures separately. My DH finished part of the basement for me and made a room all for me!
Oh yeah, and I supposed I would have to take a pic of that closet where I shoved stored everything I didn't want to deal with….LOL.
And Terry, I owuld love to see a pic of your cutting table. I can imagine the pegborad, but not how the rulers hand on it. And how do you hang your thread boxes? - never heard of anyone doing that.
My only problem with a before picture would be trying to figure out where to stand to take it. Would have to clear space to do that. ROFL
Suzanne, before and after pics would be nice. I've been going from one little project to another, so I could just take a pic and then clean my room back up and take another pic! ;0) My "organization" are mostly plastic boxes & drawer units, but I do have a peg board that I absolutely love. All of my scissors, rotary cutters, tape measures, marking tools are right at hand. Pattern pcs. being used hang from pegs on pinchy metal paper clips, keeping them handy but not lost in the shuffle. My rulers hang on "L" hooks on the (wooden) legs of my cutting table. The pegboard is right between my cutting and sewing tables. My thread boxes hang on the wall & keep my thread dust free. Sigh, I love my sewing room . . . .
It's nice to see some chatter on here again. Yes, I finally went back and found Kit's table again - she's in my UFO group and we were just talking about it there too. (Or is the Around the Quilt Frame group?)
I love to hear what everyone is trying for organization - helps me with ideas of what might work for me, or at least, ideas I can tweak.
Has anyone ever suggested that we all take before pics of our rooms as they are now, work on them for a set period of time, and then take after pics? I"d be willing to try that so that I could get my butt in gear. I think I would get more done and enjoy it more too, if I really took the time to get organized. What do y'all think?
Elana I put all of my quilts that are in progress in the 14 x 14 clear scrapbook storage containers and then label them. I have the large rubbermaid containers with my flannels. Solids colors in one, Christmas in another etc. Then for my cottons I have all my batiks in one, solids in another, prints are in separate containers with like colors. My kits are all in one container. I hope this gives you some ideas.
Ok, wanted to get some ideas on storage. Have alot of kits not started. Should I group them together seasonally, practical (like placemats/runners), wall hangings, & large quilts? Also, have grouped together quilt tops & UFO's as well. Have started re-organizing room. Was really frustrated & tired yesterday, but beginning day with a positive attitude of getting some progress here. Any thoughts/ideas/suggestions would be helpful. Just purchased that book by Carolyn Woods "Orgainizing Solutions" Have Tues/Wed off weekly & want to use my time wisely. Thanks to this group being here:)
Terry I went to the meet & share tab at the top and clicked on the quilters link and went to down to the all quilters and typed in kit brenner/tx and her page came up.
