Good morning fellow quilters one and all. So sorry I have not been on line with you all. I am still fighting health issues but God and quilting are helping see me through. Today I am going to hand sew the binding on my Kim Diehl Buttons and Bows quilt or at least start it. Have to limit how much repetative movements I do.

Got some flowers planted outside yesterday and so enjoyed playing in the dirt.

My best friend had to put her dog down this week. That was so sad. Those little fur people are so much a part of our family. They sure leave good foot prints in our hearts. My Pekingese (Spice) is so much fun and company for me. Last night she was very barky and woke me many times. This morning I discovered what it was all about. She was chasing a fly that had the nerve to be in our space. Found my huge palm plant and a smaller plant dumped in the living room as she was trying to hunt him down. She is napping now from all the night shift work she had to do.

I got the fly so she can sleep in peace. Want to work on a Christmas project some today...yup I'm thinking ahead. Will tell you how it goes if my plan works. The Hen House is up to every Wednesday now. I love it. We call it WIng It Wednesday and the hens come at 10:00 and stay as long as they like. We do so much and talk to our hearts content. FUn is always had by all who attend. Enjoy the day. Love to all., Mary Jane

Great news. I am working with some ladies at an assisted living home. These ladies want to quilt/sew. God willing it will happen. This Thursday I hope to help them make quilted pot holders. Will be planning and cutting fabric today for them. Any other simple ideas? Enjoy the day you all. Mary Jane

Happy New Year to one and all from The Hen House. You material girls are one of my passions. It is very cold here today. I ventured out to church and have been hugging close to the house the rest of the day. Worked on decluttering some of the kitchen counters. Want to sew but plan some bible study time first. Then on to some fabric. What could be better than a day spent with the sewing? Hope you have a good turn out Tink on the 23rd. I heard all about Quilts of Valor two years ago when I went to the quilt expo in Madison WI. Good cause. Love to all Mary Jane

Good morning to one and all. It was the best week I have had in ever so long. Went to Montreal, WI. Who knew there was a Montreal in WI? Stayed at Whitecap Mountain which is a ski resort...no I did not ski. It was a bible quilt retreat and it was awesome. I took way too many projects along but was trying to get some Christmas projects done. I love to create all my gifts and have done that since I was a teenager. Just love thinking about the person I'm making the item for. Makes Christmas so warm and fuzzy for me with all the memories I put in every item. Does anyone else have ideas for quick to make gifts? I have been making water bottle holders. I call them my charming bottle totes. I put a charm on each one and thus the name. I ended up doing mostly bottle holders because the ladies at the retreat wanted to purchase them. I did get three finished for gifts though so that was nice. Also worked on one of six table runners that will be gifts. We had bible study every night after supper and that was so great. There were 28 women there and it was so full of love and sisterhood. The youngest person there was a baby boy 4 months old. All stepped in and cared for him so his Mom could sew and get some much needed rest. The oldest person there celebrated her 90th birthday there. We were all ages but all sisters. It was so uplifting to be there. I'm still trying to get photos loaded to share with you all. Love always from The Hen House, Mary Jane

I finely got my leader cleaned. I found a spray on cleaner at Hancock Fabrics. I sprayed it on in the morning and left it on over night. I should have taken them off, the smell was strong. Then in the morning, I just brush it off, like corn starch. They came out beautiful. A lot cheaper then replacing the leaders. Will save the can for future use.

Julia, I love your "Apple Cider" and yes, my other groups have been quiet, too.
