After having carpal tunnel surgery the end of August, I'm finally back at embroidering Over the Hill and Through the Woods. It will take a while, but feels good to be back working on this quilt!

I am a long time member of "Quilting With Us" (QWU). I used to give virtual workshops here. Like many others, I have ventured out as QWU became more quiet.

We are getting the warning that QWU is at risk of being disabled. I fear this is a sign that QWU will one day be no more.

It has become like family here and the thought of losing the friendships we have developed has giving me a sad heart. Like many dark clouds, there is a silver lining. When I ventured out, I created a quilters social network, much like QWU. I never mentioned it, for it was a conflict of interest. However, in this dark hour, it is time to let others know there is an alternative. It does not have to end here.

I would be honored for QWU members to join "Pattern Pastiche". If needed, we are more than happy to create a group for your new home.

I'm very sad to report that one our our QWU friends was killed yesterday in a head-on collision.  Suzanne L/WA was a member of this group.

Here's the article:  http://www.tri-cityherald.com/news/local/crime/article77772542.html

I never met Suzanne in person, but we met here on Quilt with Us and we were in several groups together.  We became Facebook friends and I got to know her better.  Besides being a quilter, she was a huge lover of animals and posted regularly about her beloved animals.  She will be missed.

I did call my quilt shop and she had some that were coming in so she saved an extra set for me.  I will be picking up 1, 2, and 3 this week sometime.

My husband's birthday is Halloween so it will be great to do it.  He decorates for the holiday.  I made him a table runner and he sets out some tomb stones that we got at Disney World.  This past Christmas I gave him a horse drawn hearse to add to it.  There are several other pieces that he has so this will be a nice addition.

I don't think it is in the cards for this Halloween.  Between now and Sept I have 3 weddings, two showers, a retirement party and next week I have an awards ceremony like the Tonys for the high school that I costume at.  We have been nominated for best costumes for a musical.  We did The Music Man

Hi Dona, Janet/MO is doing the Salem Witches quilt, she has shown me her first colored in row and it is awesome. I thought about getting it, but I told myself i could only have one of her projects going at a time. I am finally back to working on my Winter Wonderland one. I have a looonnnngg time left to stitch on it, but it sure is fun.

Like Judy said I am sure we would all love to see your progress!

I've seen it and love it. It is so detailed and great. I'm not making it though. Show us as you progress!

My quilt shop is doing it but I missed the sign up.  I may have to wait to order it.  I will be talking the owner tomorrow.  I know the 3rd one is coming out.
