Wow, I don't like mysteries, I have never been into them, hated Nancy Drew as a child, but then I read, the last page of a book first if it is good then I read the book. I read alot of historical novels and have read most of the classics. Read all of Charles Dicken by the time I was a sophmore in High School and have reread them numerous times over the years.

Good Saturday morning.

I started a Deborah Crombie mystery, the latest in the Gemma James series, last night. Had to pull myself away from it this morning to get to the office for an appointment for which, I now realize, I am very early. Oh well. I'll have it to curl up with tonight. If you read the series try to start at the beginning.

Barbara: what re the agatha raisin mysteries about?

Trevi: The Kinsella books are the quilting books?

Francine: What about Kathy Reichs books? Are they in French?

Elizabeth: Never could get into Grisham. Too much like real life. I think that's why I love the British mysteries.

Recently discovered M.C. Beaton's "Agatha Raisin" mysteries. Cozy mysteries are a lot of fun. I like to have a book in my hands & turn the pages. Don't know if I'd like the 'Kindle' but it's tempting.
Little bit of snow on the ground this AM in central IL. Am going to a quilt class to make a Christmas banner. Hope the roads aren't too slippery. Days like these I regret giving up my 4WD vehicle for economy reasons.
Hope all are cozy and having geat Saturdays.

I'm trying to read some Sophie Kinsella novels so I can take them to the library as a donation. They're sweet but not anything I want to keep long term. After I read them I'll take them to the public library. I have many things to sort thru before we move and there are a lot of books I haven't read yet. Hope I can read them before giving them away. I'm being very realistic about the space limitations after the move. I'll have a bedroom & a sewing room in my son's new house. Not my own apartment as I have now. It's going to be a good move! I'm determined!

Hi Everyone,

I am going to read The Confession by John Grisham on my DH's ekindle now. Will that qualify as a classic for our book group? I guess not.

Nancy Drew is a great idea. There's a little Havanese who lives upstairs and her name is Nancy Drew. She's one of my dog's girlfriends and she's adorable. Does not yet drive a little roadster, however.
Do they make Cliff Notes for mysteries?

OK seven kindles, plus one for DH and one for DGS, that's nine, I think. Linda, I will buy you something else that's very cool and groovy.
Yikes, that i s way too much snow, ranchmom! I hope your DH bought milk and bread before the snow started.
OOPS, make that ten, one for Anne. I bet you did have fun with Barbara, that crazy quilt sounds gorgeous! you should go for it.
OK, Gayle, one for you too! And yes, I am ordering a bunch of leather cases, you can have your pick.
I say we start with all the Nancy Drew books. She is soooo cool! I better order one for Francine, too, she will want one.
I better get my magic credit card out and start ordering!

Yes! My day is half over! Wahoo! Oh, a book group, hummmm..... I'm game for that! I hated the classics in high school. Bought Cliff notes and that got me through. Oh, what a lovely image, tinsel in the sun for hours. I can just hear Buddy the Elf going, ooooooo and if it was sugar coated he would eat it!

Yay for you Elizabeth!!!
