Welcome Jeanne! Nanny Gayle is right. Just click on each discussion forum above and it will open a window of pictures of gifts you can make from the books listed above. Just ask questions as many know how to navigate around all the options! We'll all help you.

Mary Agnes! Good to have you back! I have really missed you! YES! We can take care of our Diane!!! In fact, while in recovery, she can have the penthouse. Wish that vacation was better! Yikes! Well, you have lots of hex's done! Thats good.

I broke my ankle in much the same way you did. Stepped onto an uneven stepping stone wrong and wa-lah, broken ankle. That was 12 years ago and now have arthritis in it. Arrrrrgh!

Nanny Gayle ~ Thanks for helping Jeanne! I love that about quilters! Just super good people! Hope you post some pics of your "Hold Alls".

Hi Jeanne, I am Gayle and glad to have another new person on board. I guess if you look at the top of the page and see if there is anything there that you want to make for a gift, and then see which book it come from so you can order it(either from CT or some other provider) so you can jump on the band wagon and start making gifts. I bought the Cider Mill book since my DD collects apple things for her kitchen. I have made placemats and hotpads and now I am going to make a hand full of the apple pin cushions to use in a basket on her table. If I have time I would like to make her a table runner(all of these are in that book). I am hoping to make a few of the "Hold Alls" from the "Pretty Little Presents" book. Then when I get past Christmas, I have picked out some other things to make for birthdays and whenevers. They are some pics here so you can see what some of the things look like before buying the books.

I'm back from vacation. Horrible news about Diane. I thought a princess would be protected from such accidents. If she needs a place to recuperate can she move into the hen house? We can take turns taking care of her.

Cruise was interesting. It last longer than I wanted because captain didn't stop in Newfoundland where I was going to abandon ship. Wound up going to Ft. Lauderdale which allowed me to get lots of 1/2 inch Christmas hexagons basted. One passenger started an afternoon at sea Stitch and Bitch and two of the women, tired of their own projects, basted many for me. now I've got to do something with them.

Diane: Hope you're up and dancing soon. Can you blame it on the weather? Icy roads or something? When I fell and broke my ankle it was my own damn fault. No ice, no snow, no rain, just me doing battle with the NYC pavement.

Stay warm is the operative word. Today we were at Oktoberfest all day and we all froze to death! Well we're all still alive, so guess we didn't quite freeze to death, but we sure were cold. We sold several hats, mittens, and scarves with the cold weather. Hope tomorrow is warmer and maybe the sun will peak it's head out. That would be nice.

Got my CT order yesterday. Now to get busy with some Christmas gifts, since I don't need to make more items to sell. I'll have to study my new books and plan what I should get busy on.

Have a good evening everyone. We are watching the NASCAR race and drinking hot chocolate. Kit

Roseann, I got confused just reading your conversation with your GD! They can really make us stop and think can't they?
So, I am up before the chickens this morning and was working on a Thanksgiving idea for a new table quilt or wall quilt.....can't quite make up my mind which I want to do. I will be off to town later when the stores co-operate and decide it is time to open! It would be so convenient if they where open whenever I wanted to go to town! Have a great weekend everyone and try to stay warm!

Last night after 2 hours of non stop " Why?" questions from my GDs the 5 year old finally aked her grandpa, "What does WHY mean?" after much heming and hawing he finally said "Why means What". She looked at him with this sly look and said "what does what mean?" Boy am I tired! LOL

I hope that Diane is up and about soon and that she is back so I can get to know her. Best wishes for a speedy recovery!
LInda, bribery works so well with grandkids, but I have to know, how do you have the strength to throw out fabric? It doesn't matter how small it is, I hang onto it! I really need to get my DGD to make a scrap quilt or 10!
BTW, I posted a picture of the other Halloween banner. I finished all three today so I am on to another project. Three of my four children will have Halloween banners this weekend. The fourth child, my youngest, is a bachelor so I just make things and put them in a box for 'someday' when he will be interested in that type of thing. Have a lovely weekend one and all!

Yes, I must be ADH too, Mari. We can be partners in crime anytime.
No spinning today, Diane? I hate driving in the nasty snow and ice. How many months do you get a year that it's not snowing? BRRRR. I guess you have better snow clearing machines than we do.
I do not bite. Who thinks I bite? I may be paranoid, jail bird, ADD, hungry, crazy, but I don't bite.
Mari, what's really bad is when the grandkids do something they shouldn't and you want to gripe at them, but you are cracking up!
Roseann, What fun DGD's you have! I have two grandsons.
Oh, no, poor Diane! I hope she heels fast, and is back to her same old self soon. Who is Annette? She needs to keep us updated on Diane, or prop her up with a laptop or something so we can talk to her.
DGS1 is here today, I took the day off to have a 'fall break' day with both grandsons, and #2 decided to stay home and do something else. What could be more fun than my house? We made some cookies, made lunch, and I bribed him with money to help me clean my quilting room. We hung some pictures, cleaned some stuff off the floor, and went through the fabric scraps and got rid of some of them. Then we decided that next year we would go through the same fabric and organize by color or something. Now I gotta find some money for him. Anyone got some money I can borrow???
Hoppy quilting!
