Oh that would be wonderful, Sandy! Not sure how I would work all the logistics out but it would be awesome to join you all someday.
Adorable....! Carol, when will you venture to Iowa to join us at a retreat? Perhaps 2020? We have such a wondeful time together for 3-4 days.
SEW CUTE, Carol!! What a great gift!
I am plugging away with the b-day blocks...just about have them done. But seems like every time I get ready to work on them, I get interrupted! Then finish the NDTS blocks...then the fidget quilt. I'm an under pressure of a deadline sewer, too, Rhonda!
And somewhere in there I need to make a practice block for the State Fair contest before I use the fabric they sent!
Hugs and prayers.
I found this cute sock monkey fabric and had to make a baby quilt complete with a "way-back-when" sock monkey. Wow, I'm older than I think!
The Kim Crawford, it's what the guy at the wine store recommended too. I really wanted the Voga just because the bottle looked cool but they didn't have it.
What did you end up being for them lynne?
Great idea for a shower for "seasoned" couples!
I've decided that if I take some big basting stitches on the sides of the towel I can make a pouch and just tie the top with ribbon. I don't need to hide the fact that it is a bottle of wine since that is what at the shower theme is. They are an "older" (35) first time bride and groom who are combining two well furnished homes so they don't need the traditional wedding stuff. The aunts decided to stock their wine cellar instead!
Do you have a basket, Lynne, that will hold all the stuff and use the towel to cover the top, picnic basket style?
My sewing flurry a few weeks ago seems to have vanished. I haven't accomplished much for a few weeks again. I need to get the binding on the fidget quilt today. I also need to get the last unit for my NDTS blocks squared up so I can get them put together. I've been using them as leader and ender pieces, but I had better just get them put together now.
I'm not sure what I'm working on for retreat either. I am 6 weeks behind on my mystery quilt so if I don't get that caught up by then that will be project 1. I suppose I will just grab a kit or two off the shelf in the closet and cut there if I don't get organized before then.
Mom was in the hospital all last week and we moved her to the local care center on Friday for rehab. We really didn't get a diagnosis. Could have been a mild case of pneumonia, UTI, a sludgy gall bladder or just the bug that is going around. What ever it was it sapped her strength so she needs some therapy to get going again.
Had a wonderful day on Saturday just hanging out in downtown Cedar Falls with my nine "sisters". We try to do something special all together at least twice a year. We all go to the same church and different assortments of us are involved in activities together. Those days when all 10 of us are together for just fun are special though.
I have a shower gift I am trying to figure out how to wrap. I have a bottle of wine, some coasters, dip mix and a kitchen towel. The plan was to use the towel as the wrap rather than spending more on a bag. Unfortunately the towel isn't big enough. Maybe I have a bag left from DIL's shower somewhere.
Time to get busy. Have a great day. Only 24 days!
