Happy Thanksgiving from OPC! We arrived Tuesday evening after spending 3 days in the Texas Hill Country on our way down. That is such a great part of the state, fun and historic. It's the Cowboy Capital of the World and I even bought myself a pair of short cowgirl boots. Nothing glitzy; no Dolly Parton stuff for this old girl! Spent yesterday unpacking and doing laundry and some cleaning. Went out to eat today with three other couples; no time to cook this year. Blessings to everyone; we have much to be thankful for!
Happy Thanksgiving all my quilt sisters.
Happy anniversary Jackie and Jerry - I love those colors!
That is beautiful Diane!
We got about an inch of snow, much less than to the west and north of us. The twins are here today while I do my stuff for tomorrow. The turkey ended up falling to me as the nephew who was going to cook at MIL's, lives in Minneapolis and wasn't sure what today would bring for traveling. That's in the oven with about an hour left, the "dirt" dessert filling is in the fridge. Pumpkin pies and a dip left to go.
Happy Thanksgiving to all and safe travels!!
Same to you, Rhonda!! Hope I can stay 'good' and not over eat!! We have changed up a couple of sides because of Jerry's eating. Having plain green beans instead of green bean casserole and some roasted sweet potatoes in addition to regular mashed potatoes. So that should help me, too. Kaci is in charge of the pumpkin pies, so is going to use low fat evaporated milk and cool whip for one of the four pies.
Someone made extra NDTS blocks!! I was thinking of a wide sashing, but I really like the way yours looks.
SO glad we didn't get the snow that northern Iowa got! We are still working on getting the rest of our corn out. Jerry has been riding along in the grain truck, but yesterday he actually drove it himself!! Another little victory!
Forty eight years ago today, Jerry & I got married!! Can't believe we've both put up with one another all these years!! My dress was velvet and the bridesmaids dresses were rust-colored velvet. Harvest gold tux jackets...what a hoot! You can really 'date' this picture!!
Happy Thanksgiving to all and Merry Christmas, Jan!!
Hugs and prayers!
the wind sure can blow! my WISC. kids blew in last night before it got to ugly thank goodness. i keep forgetting to post a picture of my NDTS quilt. Here
it is in all its glory
Have a great Thanksgiving everyone.
Just want to take a minute and wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving with friends and family tomorrow. We will be in Bondrant witrh our sons and families enjoying our littles. Everyone stay safe with this unpredictable weather.
I think I have all the Christmas presents wrapped and ready to go. I still have a couple of "White Elephant" gifts to wrap, but that should be it!! Whew!! Glad that is done. The turkey is in the roaster and has about 20 minutes to go. Then I'll get that sucker off the bone, packed up and frozen again. That way it will be safe for the trip to Ankeny on Wednesday. I am so excited about seeing everyone. It has been a while - probably May. We are including three boyfriends in the mix this years, so that will be interesting. (One has been a fixture for a while, so nothing new there - we like him!!)
I am still looking for the counted cross stitch picture. Can't imagine what I did with it. After all the work, I can't think I pitched it!! Oh well, I will keep looking.
It is sunny and bright here. Rather cool this morning, 30s, but is in the low 60s now. Love it when the sun shines!!
No sewing today, I don't think. I really want to get some projects cut and ready to go, so may do that. There is that darn t-shirt quilt I need to prepare also!!
Have a great week. Hope those final fields get harvested. Mud Is no fun.
Don't feel bad Darce, my sewing room still looks as if a fabric bomb went off even though I spent the last week straightening. I took time yesterday to put out a few Christmas decorations. Umm not putting up a tree since we won't be here but I do want a festive feel at least to the living room. I should get rid of 90% of my decorations. I don't decorate the entire house like I used to and my kids don't seem to want them either!
Lynne i hope you get your picture! I haven't started the Tucker mysteries , I'm making sure I download the clues though so maybe next week. Oh yeah that's when Bonnie Hunter starts hers too so maybe not!
Kim was able to get some field work done this weekend so he's in a good mood.
I have to go to Harper's winter dance recital this afternoon. It's out on by the Miracle Network, Dance Without Limits. All special needs kid are included. The smiles they have are priceless!
Wow Deb - beautiful!
Lynne - I didn't realize the frost had come out - what a mess! A photo of that adorable grandbaby by the tree would be a great card.
Well, in a sudden decision, Natalie and her boyfriend decided the time is now for her and the twins to move in with the BF and his 3 boys. They'd been talking about next spring, but the air quality where she is is affecting Freya even tho Natalie has done everything she can to improve it, so they decided now is the time. Her landlady was very understanding and is planning to refund the deposit even tho Natalie has a lease. So.....I watched 5 kids yesterday afternoon while the parents moved beds and clothes. They got all of the essentials moved, altho there is still a lot at the other place - she has until 12/15 to have everything out.
Last night I worked at organizing projects I've got out and in progress - I seemed to have really jumped from one thing to another to another and created chaos.
Today, I'm going to see if I can make the guest room look more like a guest room and less like a drop zone. Wish me luck.
Very cool Deb. I saw it on Jacque's blog as well.
