What this group is about

I don’t know about you, but I have too many things started. Join me in my quest to get finish what I’ve started. The deal is, for every 2 projects I finish, I get to reward myself by starting something new. You can make your own rules, or give the group ideas for new rules as we go. I think it’ll be fun to ask this group for advice on what project to wrap up next, show my progress with photo’s, get motivation from each other when I want to break my own agreement (trust me, I am weak willed when it comes to new projects).

1. No purchase necessary
2. Timeframe: this is an ongoing group with no defined end time.

TUFO - means Tuesday UFO - those of us interested try to make a small dent in whatever UFO we are working on. Tuesday is simply the day the Connecting Threads gals get together to sew and craft...you can make it any day you like, but we got a kick out of the title. Once in awhile we can't make it on Tuesday so we move it to Wednesday - yup WUFO. Report here what you are planning to work on, then the next day, let us all know how you did. Nothing is required, it's just for fun.

Lynne, Sherri and Janet....beautiful projects! I have asked myself why I haven't finished things many many times.

Here is a UFO from 2017 I finished recently. It is a Flying Geese Log Cabin, but I added the black sashings. A friend did it like that and I liked it better than the original pattern.

I finished the Christmas tree skirt my daughter started more than 23 years ago. She had started cross stitching it and never finished it so I offered a couple of years ago. Her husband will really be surprised as he gives her grief every Christmas about not having it finished. I tried to work on it before my carpal tunnel surgery, but just couldn't do it. I finished about 1/3 of the cross stitching in and outlined it all...finished this afternoon. So glad it is finished!

Sherri,,, you have done more t-shirts quilts than I ever want to do!!!  The quilt I am making now is totally related to sports.  She also has been recruited by colleges, but for soccer.   With Covid still being around, she hasn't been able to see all the colleges, and a lot aren't giving scholarships.  She has decided, with the help of her parents, to stay within the state they live in,, much cheaper.  And she had to find a school with classes that would help her fulfill he goals.  She wants to go into forensic science.

BOTH MY GRANDDAUGHTER are volleyball nuts too.  The oldest was one of the first .  recruited by University of Tennessee, Chattanooga for their newly formed Sand volleyball team.   Her younger sister is being watched by a couple of colleges for indoor court volleyball.  It is so exciting to have them involved in this.  But then their mom ( my daughter)  owns a volleyball club and coached the High school team for a few years.  Volleyball is their life.  But they are also both very good students.  and I am thankful for that as well.  I love being a gramma .  I have three,,, all granddaughters. Two in college one in high school.  The last t shirt quilt for Alison,  will be the 4th one.  I will make,  and hopefully the last,  although my DD has hinted she would like one made from  her Army T shirts.  OOPs I did make one for my son with shirts from when he raced cars. So that a total of 5 I will have made and I can't say I like making them at all.

Sherri,, I will have one more t-shirt quilt to make,, for youngest granddaugher, but she still has 4 more years of school.  She is a former gymnast, and is now playing basketball and volleyball.

LYnne, That has to be my soon to be started project The last Tshirt quilt for the youngest granddaughter and i hope the last one I ever have to make. She's a junior so I have time.. Maybe,, the way our friends are dropping like flies, who knows so I want to make it so she isn't the only one without a T shirt quilt if i should die before it is finished.

karen, I'm searching.  I had it in my hands not long ago,,, it will turn up.  I have a total of 4 quilts that need binding.  Set them aside to make my granddaughter her t-shirt quilt, her graduation gift.

This quilt has been a long term UFO,, close to 20 years.  The stars were completed early on, but I just kept putting the border off for another day.  Pattern is Civil War Star by Julia Hale of Bits 'n Pieces in Wayne, Michigan.  I love stars and applique.  I can't do any hand quilting anymore,, so it has been finished by a LAer.  Now to find the binding material!!!

Thanks Amanda.  I haven't thought of dying cross stitch fabric,  I haven't cross stitched in many years.
