"New pieced back craze"? I have many a quilt using a pieced method, but I tried to make the back then as important as the top. One should also think how it will be quilted, if would make a difference or not. If possible I have the same border amount. You do then have to really make sure the top and backing line up to make it a two for one. If you edge to edge then anything would work.

It does make a back more interesting but sometimes you don't have enough material from your project to make an interesting back.  I like the idea though

A question for the group. What do you think of the new pieced back craze? It seems as though everyone is doing it. I like the idea not only because it makes the back interesting but because it came save you money.

Hello - Just joined and am so glad there is a modern quilt group.  I'm a member of my Sacramento MQG so having this here will be fun.  Modern quilting is a lot of fun and a nice change from the traditional quilts.

Thank you Shannon. I made that quilt with a Picnic Parade charm pack, brown solid and the white is Moda muslin.

I'm in. Though I love traditional quilts, I need more instant gratification. Love the group's photo, the white with the coloured squares.

This sounds like a fun group.  I too love modern quilts although I have to say I love most any kind of quilt!
