To celebrate National Quilt Month in March, Connecting Threads will offer a Mystery Quilt 2013 Quilt Along. This is our first Mystery Quilt and promises to be lots of fun for all. We think you will enjoy making this quick and versatile, three-part pattern, suitable for beginning and experienced quilters. The catch is that you won’t know what the quilt looks like until Part 3!
The finished quilt will be a lap quilt or throw, approximately 51-1/2" x 68-1/2".
You will need an additional 3-1/4 yards for a three-pieced back.
Binding - At least 250" of a continuous strip.
This would not be a good first quilt. Having said that, it is an instructional pattern. Each section is accompanied by detailed notes and photos for each step. Some of the piecing is very easy, some requires more precise work... but Ann provides many hints to help you be successful. The quilt is for a confident beginner with experience sewing 1/4" seams.

Mary, I can't find them either. It ways its in the discussion section? and I couldn't find the link. Maybe we have to wait until the 12th.
Cindy, thanks for the info on the new fabric. As luck would have it, I found the pic per your instructions and it's release date id the 12th - same day we are supposed to get our fabric requirements. Now I'm only hoping that they have enough of it so that I can use it for this quilt. I have a suspicion that this will be the fabric that Ann uses, but who knows! I just love the color combination of the black, tan, grey, cream and brown. I will be ordering as soon as I get in from work on Tuesday.
And yes, 21 members now. It's good to see some of the gang from other groups and to meet some new friends.
Good morning everyone. This group is starting to grow...seeing lot's of new faces on here. It's going to be a lot of fun.
Brenda, no size given yet. I'm having a hard time waiting until Tuesday for the info to come out. Not sure my stash is adequate to do a quilt. I see shopping in the near future!
Jan - if we finished up all of our ufo's, we would just be looking for something new to start...so why not get a jump on it and already have something new going. lol I'm trying to finish up the Easy Street mystery quilt this weekend...well, get the top finished. Not sure what I'm using for backing yet. AND if I'm also doing the Lazy Sunday mystery. Probably have to take a break from mysteries for awhile after all of this!
I should be finishing all my ufo's but what the heck, who can resist a mystery?
I did a mystery quilt with cousins a few years ago and it was fun so decided to try one again. Can't wait to get started.
Hello everyone, I'm here! Hello to the few I don't know yet, but look forward to getting acquainted. And, like Kathy B. said, we are a chatty group. (lol) Naw, not us Kathy. I am so looking forward to this new mystery and like others have said, what's another project to add to the mix. Time for the fun to begin. Oh wait, not until March :(
Anyways, thanks Ann for heading this group up.
Its so good to see friends from other groups and 3 new ones. I've checked out the home pages of Kathy, Ann and Debbie. Mystery quilts may be new to you, but certainly not the making of beautiful quilts. So glad to meet you!
