If you have a dedicated work space, how do you have it set up? Here's what my friend Joanie did with hers:…Continue

I agree with you Sherri Ely, those sharp corners would either rip your skin, shirt or poke through the ironing fabric.. Not good, stick to your guns is best.
Oh, that is a great idea, next time Ranchdad goes to harbor freight I will have to pick one up.
Looks good. I love a room with nooks and crannies.
This drawer unit is my latest IKEA find. I purchased it because I thought it would fit neatly under my sewing table. And it would have but I forgot about the metal cross braces running down the underside of the desktop. So fortunately I had this little cubby hole which is right behind where I sit when I am at the machine. I then used the plastic drawers that used to hold some of the things I now store in this for strips for my stash.
Finally after a year I have completed my ironing surface. All by myself, with a little help stapling the fabric from my DD . I really wanted to put a frame of 2x2's on the underside of the ironing surface, but my DH po pooed that idea. So I went along. But I wanted to angle the front of the board to eliminate the sharp right angles and he thought that unnecessary too. But I wanted ot , so i got out the saw and trimmed it myself. This will be great for pressing backings and quilt tops. Not to mention while piecing I can if I want pull it closer to the machine as it is on casters... Bur I like to get up after each step,,,, keeps me from sitting for such long periods of time and at least I am moving around....
Nice space, Lea! I have to chuckle because, like me, every horizontal surface requires something on it! I made a big "L" shape so that I have room to quilt and then I just had to go & "put stuff" on it.
Looks pretty good to me. You have a nice size room.
I bought the noodles at our CVS for $1 each at the end of the year. I also have used them for embroidery designs for the center of a quilt block or wall hanging. You can stick pins easily in the noodle if you need to. It makes them easy to store and also keep covered. I have nosy, lazy cats who love to find a pile of fabric or a project to sleep on. Noodles are so comfortable. This wasn't my idea but one of those tips from somebody. Thank you somebody.
