Feedsack Patches Quilt

This is a Darlene Zimmerman pattern and I used scraps from another 30's quilt. Made for a friend who is battling cancer.

Hi Prairie Quilter in NE...sadly, my friend passed away just before Christmas in 2010.  She is in heaven now and not suffering anymore.

Darlene Z just came out with a new line (for Robert Kaufman)...can't remember the name, but it is adorable...I want to say it's called Pickles, but I really can't remember...saw it on PSI Quilt.

You know, even though there are all sorts of beautiful "modern" quilt fabrics, my favorite is 30's, like my grandmother used.

A quilter after my own heart.  Those 30's fabrics are hard to beat in my book.  I have several Darlene Zimmerman books/patterns and a great stash of 30's FQs, I just haven't cut into them yet!  You inspire me to get busy.  What a great gift for your friend.  I'm sure she loves it.

Beautiful quilt. I would have never thought to use green as the sashing and border. It really brings the whole quilt together and shows off the other fabrics.
