,At our church we have a secret sister program. My secret sister this past year has been like Santa Claus. Every time I got a package it was like Christmas and was so joyous. She spoiled me! There were always books, figures or something with sunflowers, a music box, a musical Christmas egg, CDs, Civil War jigsaw puzzle, Civil War movies, set of sunflower coffee mugs, raisin oatmeal cookies, and the list goes on and on. She was so very generous. Today (May 5, 2012) was our garden party and the time we reveal who our secret sisters are. When she revealed herself to me, she received a surprise in return. This "Quilt of Joy". I was so excited when I gave it to her that I forgot to take a photo of the finished quilt. So this photo is before I actually quilted it. I'll have to call her and see if I can get a photo.
The quilt is made from scraps and leftover fabric from other projects. All fabrics are 100% cotton. It is my own design, led by the Holy Spirit. I had no control; it took on a life of it's own. It is machine pieced and quilted.
