The fun begins continues

I don't know what happened to my blog it decided to post itself.  I will just finish the last sentence. 

 

-------off you go to watch the ponies run.   They provide the bus to get there.  The cost is $25. for dinner and watching the races.  Plus if you want to bet on the race that is your added expense.  I have a cleaning lady on Thursday.  It really helps although they donn't do a

thorough job.  Hope you all have a great weekend.

Hi everybody.  Just wanted to let you know I have sold my house {in only four days}. The house closed on March 1st and even that wasn't a problem.  I have settled in the retirement apartment.  It wasn't difficult but I did have my moments.  There is a lot to do.  I have to limit myself or I wouldn't get any quilting done.  There is all kinds of card games, bingo, craft club and many  other things to do.  The outing this month is to Woodbine which is a horse racing track.  They serve a huge… Continue

I am early today and of course had to check out what is going on.  I started watching the photo screen.  I have seen quilt art work before  but never really saw it.  This morniing I fell in love with it.  I really can't believe what the ladies in the art group have done.  The pictures have

got me going on a new angle.  I am aiming to finish up some of my

'to do' pile and than I am going to try my hand at art quilting.  I should have lots of scraps by than. Have a great day.

I am back after being without internet for a month.  Boy did I miss everybody.  As far as sewing goes  I am not

sure where everything is.  I have a storage area and the boxes all got put in there including my machine.  Next week I will get busy and empty some boxes.  I think most of them are materials.  I didn`t think I had a very beg stash but when it was time to move it I heard nothing but complaints about how much there is.  Nobody understands having a stash like our fellow…

A New Future

He everyone. I have decided to put my townhouse up for sale. My legs won't work much anymore and trying to

keep the place clean and tidy is very difficult. I had often been going to check out this Retirement Home. so in my tired frustrated body I went to check it out.. I really like it and by chance they had a one bedroom coming available. It will be available Dec. 15th. So after 32 years in my town house I am moving. And doing it quickly. Sorry to hear you are in so much pain. I hope quilting helps you. I know it sure is my therapy! No big rush for the block.....I am pretty busy this time of year with field work on the farm. I pray for rain so we can have a day off lol

Hi Ada, thanks for your comment on my blog post.  DS is glad to have a place to work this summer.   He enjoyed it so much last year and had some adventures.  DD was so afraid she wouldn't be able to find a job.  She'd been job hunting since January, so she's looked for awhile.  She feels a little bit better now, because not only did she get offered this job, she's had other offers as well.  She is a hard worker - very focused.  Hope all is well with you and yours.  Take care!

Hi Ada, thanks for the lovely comments.  Yes, I've been sewing, thought not as much as I'd like.  You'd think with all the time off that I'd do more, but my creative juices weren't flowing.  But a couple of weekends ago I went to a 4 day quilting retreat and sewed like crazy!  Finished a queen quilt top for my bed, started and finished 2 baby quilt tops (twins due in May for a friend), and the starting row for a Row Robin challenge.  So much fun!

Ada - It was great to visit with everyone. I really bonded with our little GS as we don't see much of him. He would say every morning "Good morning Nana Ally" so cute.

We had a good visit with Mom and she look really good in the photo but she really is failing she sleeps such a lot. About 22 hrs in 24 hrs. she tires very quickly and usually only answers yes or no or sometimes not at all. But we dressed her up and did her hair and she received her guest on her 90th.

Very disappointed with the fabric in Hong Kong the cotton was exported from the States and not much choice. But I did find a little store in York in the UK and bought a few patterns and some fat quarters.

Yes Ada, I'm feeling much better today. Once I heard from Ashley and learned that her friend got on her flight and she herself was back at Ft Riley safely I felt better. I think the thing that bothered me most was her traveling on bad roads. Luckily her car didn't get more then a small dent. Thank you for your nice comment.
