I am retired widow. Retirement has given me time to really pursue my hobbies. Though I have dabbled in many forms, quilting more or less took over my life. I have done some quilt teaching, some commissioned pieces for friends but quilt mostly for enjoyment, to share the results with family, friends and charities. The designing and then seeing if it works are the most exciting parts of the entire process for me. I have also incorporated my love of other handwork with the quilting. I am gravitating towards doing embroidery to use as one of the fabrics in quilts. This past summer -2014-I picked up photography and it has diverted some quilting time.
Hello Agnes. I have been so interested in your quilts, they are just gorgeous. I have 2 extra bedrooms and just a small Yorkie in my home, but I know that I wouldn't be able to keep up with you. However, I'm still working, so maybe when I retire, things will settle down and I can do some of the pretty things again!
Keep up the good work and your wonderful additions to the groups. You are my hero!
You spoke of Vitamin C daily, are you familiar with crockpot applesauce. I received lots of garden apples, and made lots of applesauce, so easy, peel /dump in crockpot with water and bit of sugar.. Let cook till soft enough to blend with mixer. Cinammon for taste, pour in containers.. I love it! I just eat out of the jar with spoon, it be great for baby food..
Hi Agnes, Thanks for the sweet comment. Compliments from a quilter of your talent really make me feel good! The little tote bags that match the baby quilts happened quite my accident when I made too many blocks and wanted to use them up. New moms seem to like them. Although they aren't really big enough to be an actual "diaper bag" , they are perfect for a short trip when you want to throw in a couple diapers and a toy or too. Again, thanks!
You sold some of your items, Congratulations, what's your secret, I'm heading to Fabricland today, they have $5.00@metre polar fleece, making pants for myself and top/pants for toddlers hoping to resell in time.. Every outfit can sell more than $5.00 so a few dollars for me..
I didn't want to put anything trivial on our site today when we are all mourning the passing of Lynda's Hubby. But I mentioned the 7 yards of wide backing because I had ordered it yesterday. It is on sale this week for 30% off.
I too have many UFO's. Really to many to speak of. I belong to A quilt group in the Shenendoah valley and our president challenge us to finish six project for this year. @ down 4 to go. Of course I doubled my list. LOL.
