About Me
I am a Christian stay at home suburban wife and mom to two grown children, and two high schoolers.

I am new to english paper piecing and I LOVE it because it is so portable - I can do it anytime I am waiting in a parking lot at a child's practice, etc etc.

I am new to free motion machine quilting and gaining confidence through practice.

I am thankful and I enjoy where God has placed our family, but I am dreaming of the time when we can move to a small place in the countryside... complete with a summer kitchen and a sunny sewing room :)

I so enjoy the experience and ideas that I gain from so many here on Quilt With Us. I hope I can be an asset and a friend as well.

The time has indeed come.  Or better said, shoulda done this long ago.  And that's as harsh as I'm going to be to myself - I'm doing it now.

Looked up different systems.  Chose one that'll work for me.  Printed up the cardstock file in the link above from craftystaci's blog.  As of last night, I was able to finish about 20% of fabric by…

What was I thinking?

Since I don't see my daughter all that often, I committed to finishing her (king sized) tshirt quilt AND this queen size grad quilt for my niece and have them to her last Saturday.  So that meant I needed to make the king quilt start to finish and quilt and bind the pink/red quilt shown here.  Tall order, but I…

I scored a roll of BEAUTIFUL peach moire, book on silk ribbon embroidery, and a bunch of patterns.  There is so much there at such great prices!!!  If you can swing the trip I think you'll be so glad you…

I too love dolls making. Hope you do sell a lot. Let me know how things go. I  love old blocks, that is why I joined Grandmother's choice. The group is very active into the Civil War and history. Now Jane Austen quilts and some others.

For my longarm I have been trying to learn more ways to add quilting to my quilts. After five years of owning it I am just now getting pasted some of my fears.

Good luck with the doll and quilt business. I bought two doll patterns. I've been hoping to make at least one but can not find the time.

Currently, I need to finish a tshirt quilt that I was to have ready for Father's Day. I also have a bay quilt that I need to start for a shower on Saturday. I at least have the pattern and fabric picked out. Let's not mention all my other projects that are waiting for me to complete or start.

How is your longarm coming along as a business? I have found a few people that have wanted a quilt start to finish, but I do not advertise my service. The local quilt store is one mile from my home, so quilting for others? People often do not understand the price.

Hi Amy new to the group not sure about where to send or post. I love your page. I really like your skirt pictured. Also would love to mentor if still interested. would love to hear more from you. Tell me which way is best for responding. Yes i have a lot of critters. They are my second form of therapy first being Quilting. Your Raggedy Anne and Andy bring back memories I have both they are as old as I am my grandma made Ann when I was born she later made Andy so he is not as old.

Hi Amy, thanks for the friend request and replying about Larry Corbin. We all grew up 2 doors from each other, His mom and dad had a little grocery store and we would all hang out there. Small world. Larry was just residing on the same street as my uncle, Ray Fraley. Uncle Ray was a cop in Col for yrs and up until his death (age 84 ) he was a hand writing specialist for Col police dept and the state. I didn't think you meant by your comment about Bob Evans. They are a wonderful family. We just started getting their sausage here where I live. I have missed it for 5 yrs. Nothing like it. Have to go to St. Louis to eat in one of their rest.

Looked at your profile and absolutely love, love , love your patch skirts. I bet you made them!!!! Your pictures are beautiful of all of your hand work. Very talented. I just wish I had more time to sew. I have my Mom in a nursing home and I feel guilty if I don't go see her 4 to 5 times a week. Then we pick her up Sun for church and out to lunch. Had my sister living with me also, she had learning disabilities. She passed away this past April from leukemia. I feel so lost without her.

Great talking to another Ohio gal. Isn't this quilting thing the most wonderful thing you have ever gotten in? Such great gals and all so helpful. Love all of them.

Thanks for the comments about our home. My goal is to be in a magazine with it. It is very primitive and I love it. If you ever come to Branson we are almost on the way. Come see us. Happy sewing

Thanks, Amy.  The little cowgirl quilt was a fun one.  I'd actually chosen different fabrics for the X blocks, but they were a bust for this quilt.  So I went back to the stash for something more appropriate.  The "good" news is that I now have "seed" X-blocks for another baby quilt that should work with a different feature fabric.  (How's that for making lemonade out of lemons?) :D

Amy, you should join the Ohio Quilters group manged by Carol Vickers.  We try and get together a couple of times during the year. We pick a day and location and whoever is available joins the activities. I believe there is a sew in in Lima later this year. Would love to have you as part of our group.

Hi, Amy!  I thought it was a great tutorial and a nice finish for those quilts that don't have straight edges.  It was a new one for me, too.  Hope all is well with you and yours.

Blessings!
