I'm an elementary school teacher, a mother of three, and I have always wanted to quilt. After many years of buying quilting fabrics, books, and magazines I decided to finally enroll in a beginner course. I enjoyed it very much and have been quilting since.
I would like to be your friend very much. I am sure that we could enjoy a few of those online chats and do a little of that special sharing and caring that quilters are sew good at.
WOW Ana! You have some mighty pretty practice blocks.
Thank you for you kind comments on my work. Your photos show some pretty quality blocks yourself. Love the kimono doll. I have been working on the Sylvia's Bridal Sampler for some time now and am up to 54 blocks done out of the 140 in the project. Slow and steady wins the race...LOL! So glad you joined us!
Ana, you are off to a good start. Your photos are really cool. Love the paper-pieced kimono doll. My husband is from Okinawa so I love all that stuff as well as my most favortie...Americana! Cannot wait to share with you!
Wow! Ana, you do such beautiful work piecing (very precise points and corners), that I bet you'll be equally adept at the quilting part. Go ahead, jump right in and give it a try. Maybe you could practice on a table runner or some other small project if it will make you feel more comfortable. You have an eye for color combinations and it looks like you've mastered paper piecing (I've yet to try it).
The dolphin quilt was a request from my daughter. I don't know how well the quilting shows up, but each plain block has a different dolphin or ocean quilted in it. I just found simple pictures and modified them to fit. A labor of love.
