About Me
Quilting is my passion! I have been a quilter for over 20 years and a quilt instructor, quilt designer and pattern writer for over 7 years. My dream of earning a living with quilting came true when I joined the Connecting Threads staff in July, 2011. I love my job! Everyday, when I come to work, I am surrounded by quilts and creative, fun people. I design and write patterns for quilts and quilted projects, re-color, update, edit and archive patterns, help with new fabric collections, write tutorials and sew projects. Soon I will be leaping into the 21st century when I learn how to blog!

My tastes in quilting are eclectic. I enjoy many styles of fabric and quilting techniques. Most of my quilts are scrappy. I especially like to design, make and teach quilts that involve experimenting with the interplay of color values and have secondary patterns in the design.

I’ve been blessed with a supportive husband and two great children (a teenage son and college-age daughter) who tolerate appearing in public with me despite the inevitable thread on my clothes.

Hi Ann,

I selected the Montecito Collection-Purple for the Perfect Points Sampler, however I can't seem to find Fabric 5 #3914.   What will be an appropriate option?

Thanks - Aida

Hi Ann I love quilting as well.  There is such a feeling of accomplishment with every quilt I finish. I especially enjoy incorporating applique or machine embroidery with my quilts. I just finished a quilt for my grandson called let sleeping cats lie.  I am currently working on a quilt for my daughter that she helped design.  I then want to finish a quilt called Flower Basket that I started last year.  I am new at free motion machine quilting but I love it.  I use basting spray to speed up the process.  I have a question for you do you have an easier way to change the size of a quilt?  I find many I like but they are usually 60 X 68 to big for a baby quilt and a bit to small for a twin.  I usually just add another column or row but that doesn't always work for all designs.
