Its been awhile. How are things going. The summer is just flying by. I made all this cute 4th of July stuff and forgot to put anything out this year. The weather in June was wet and cold. It just started to turn around. Crazy Mi weather.
I haven't done much sewing. Golfing biking and yard work has kept us busy.
I have to make a G,B. Packers quilt for a friend who is moving to Wi on a job promotion. I have till Sept to get it done. I just bought the fabric today.
Have you been work on anything special? How is your summer going so far. Take Care

I have so many ideas the I get overwhelmed at times. At quilt group Monday night Cheryl showed us how to make baskets out of clothesline and scrap fabric. Real easy. I just picked up some line and i might start that for something different.
What are you working on? How is work going? I hope ok. with this crazy economy. I live in Michighan are we are in a mess. Thank God we are all working.

That is my one wish for my husband and I to design a pattern and make the quilt. I hope some day. Rob is so talented. He makes beautiful stained glass anything. paints and can draw whatever I want. He has a great eye for color. I asked him many times if he wanted to try out my sewing machine but he says that is my thing and wants to stay away. He has so many things on his plate. He is in the process of restoring his car. I have him working on my honey do list for 2009. He just finished painting the bathroom closet and now he is putting on organizer in my sewing room closet. I just had a single bar in it. Wow am I going to have room.
What are you working on? I'm making a shamrock tablerunner for my niece in N.Y. I'm trying to make her something for all the holidays. She bought her first kitchen table.
We are suppose to get up to six inches of snow tonight. I just about had enough. I clean homes and businesses and the salt is killing me. Spring better get here soon. Take Care

Scott, LA is just west of Lafayette - almost a suburb. It was raining during the Lafayette parade last night so we didn't go out. Nice weather this afternoon. The smaller town parades are sometimes better than the bigger cities because there are not too many people.

I'm still trying to get motivated to sew again. I did so much over the hoildays I can't seem to get into my sewing room. I have to come up with a new project. I still haven't put the last boarder on the Fiddlestick quilt. I have my labels on and the pockets are on the quilts I want to hang in my room. If you have time post some of your quilts. I would love to see them.

Thank you for all your help. I'm going to print the page and work on it tonight. I really should say. My husband will work on it and I will watch and learn.
Cold here in Mi today. We are going to see our first below zero this week. I just finished taking down our Christmas tree and cleaning up the house. We are going to rent a few movies tonight, this way I can sit and sew on labels on all the quilts I have missed. I have the labels ready to go. I have only one boarder to add to a quilt and my UFO's are finished. I can't believe it. Off to new and exciting things. Thank you so much Take care

Jazzed, Burnt and Making more UFO's

Hi yu'll,
IT's Jazz Fest time in New Orleans. Managed to get a nice sun burn on my face... wearing make-up so I skipped the sun screen... Definitely a Jazz FEst no-no. We only go one day since it is spendy and I spend our extra cash on making new UFO's. I started three this week!!!
Saw Chris Owens' act by the way... she is a real show-woman but according to wikipedia she is 91... she looks middle aged so I guess she will live to be 140. James Taylor drew a hugh crowd. Pete Fountain is suppose to… Continue

Keep the Weird in Austin...

I excaped so some of the weird leaked out. I did get a bit frustrated, since the university neighborhood had a bookstore close recently. Also, I found a T-shirt that said 'Keep Austin Weird', tied dyed ofcourse with a matching bumper sticker that also said... support local businesses. I was frustrated because the tshirt had a foreign label.

I think people are paying a fortune for stuff made overseas and shipped. Other than food products, most of America's manufactureing is long gone. I can't he… Continue

Carnival Parades - kids of all ages...

We made it to REX today but missed Zulu by a few blocks. We managed to see the indian dancing and costumes while walking from where we were parked. One rider on a REX float must be a football player since he would point across both sides of ST. Charles AVEnue to someone and throw a wrapped necklace or bag of necklaces the entire distance and accurately. WOW.

The crowd was unbelievable... satire was a common element. People dressed up from newborns to the ones who have seen more lifetime than mo… Continue

Email in her sleep...

The news on Yahoo today includes an article of a woman who emailed strange party invites while sleeping.
They say its possibly related to medication.

As for me, back when I was working night shift, I would get phone calls during the day from people with causes that wanted donations. It took me a while to realize why I would get bills for my agreements from different organizations. What finally got me to take my phone off the hook was when I received a bill from Planned Parenthood and from A Rig… Continue

Gave my honey a sewing lesson for feb 14th

My husband has been playing with material and making his own patterns for a few years. Well, I bit the bullet and gave him a lesson on using my sewing machine... straight stitch and 1/4 in seam allowance. He ran out of bobbin thread and thought he broke the machine. LOL. He been able to find time to walk the dog but I think my Honey Do List is history. Good thing I have several backup machines.

I should have known he was a quilter. Before he got together with me, he found a bunch of wooden spoo… Continue
