It's been a busy year, mostly taken up with handquilting my Caswell reproduction.  The next in line was my Carrie's Garden, named for a special friend of mine. . This one, though done by hand with needleturn applique and English Paper Piecing, is to be used as a tablecloth so is machine quilted.  …

Oh Annette, I am so glad I popped in here this afternoon!  It's absolutely stunning!  Love all the embroidery and quilting you did to make this quilt something spectacular.  You are so right they sure do take tenacity. I was just telling Lynne this week I feel good about finishing BG but Annette has several under her belt.......................I just can't imagine. I am sure your family knows how much they mean to you and they will cherish having them someday.

Annette, absolutely fabulous. You've out done yourself on this one. BTW, just saw something new that is suspose to protect your quilts from damage while hanging. If I see it again will let you know.

Annette, I used Skype to teach my sister who lives in Chicago. Unfortunately she passed away a couple of months after we started.  We did have fun though and I treasure those times.

Annette, your quilt is really stunning and all done by hand! I really like Away From Home also. My DH's cousin and his wife stopped by yesterday and I learned that she likes to quilt and it seems like she wants to learn applique. I'd love to show her to show her how but she lives over an hour from me in Dayton, OH. She does come to quilt shops in Columbus so maybe I'll get a hand applique convert yet.

congrats Annette your work is absolutely stunning. I wish I had a thimble of your talent. where do you get the beautiful flower patterns from? Are they original designs?

Your quilt literally took my breath away.  Are the block designs your own?  They are spectacular.  I love bird and these at posed so they look like they could fly right off the quilt.

We will have to see what we can do about getting together in the summer Annette- it would be fun. I am sure we will have lots to talk about. I would love to meet Diane as well.

We were very fortunate with the flood quilts- the long arm quilters were very generous with their time and even their materials- I learned lots about quilting that I did not know - especially about long arm machines which I know absolutely nothing about - other than they can create beautiful quilt patterns on quilts. I don't have the space for a long arm machine but I do admire the gorgeous designs that quilters can create with them.  I would love to do a few more charity quilts but I am still making wedding quilts ( post wedding quilts for three separate weddings including our son's and daughter in laws). I have never been quite so far behind as I have with these wedding quilts so I hope no one else I Know decides to get married for another year or so- maybe then I will finally catch up LOL.. In the meantime I am working on a couch quilt for a friend who is retiring this June..  I enjoyed last week off as I had spring break . I did make some headway on the quilts - I hope to get a little done tonight too.  Be well. Regards, A

hI Annette, I saw a photo of your quilt in the Red Deer Show- wow what a stunning piece of art you created and very deserving of the accolades. I am sorry that I did not get to see it in person. The show looked beautiful from the Prairie Points quilt shop pictures. I hope you are well and that things are great with you and yours. Perhaps in the summer when I get to Red deer we will get a chance to meet in person. I posted on my page a photo of the flood quilt that Diane Gunter and I created together for quilts for Calgary. warmest regards, Anna
