Hi Barbara, Thanks for your note on my page! You had asked about the pressing instructions and pinning - when quilters sew blocks together, they often pin the pieces together, usually on the seams so that their points match up. When I design blocks, I like to provide pressing instructions so that when you put your blocks together, the seams are going opposite directions so that they nestle up against each other, so that you could match them up, and not have to always pin. Does that make sense? I've never like pinning, I'm too impatient! Hope this helps! If it doesn't make any sense let me know, and I'll try to explain it better! Your blocks are beautiful, by the way!!! Very very good, especially if you are a new quilter!!!
Take care, Paula

Hi Barbara.
My name is Carol and I live in upstate NY. North Chili, which is west of Rochester, NY. I am pretty new in quilting and have not gotten into the wonderful colorful pieced quilt that many have already made on this site. If this is your first attempt at a pieced quilt it is very pretty. My biggest problem is getting the points to match "right on"//////// I keep trying and they are getting better, but I tend to make the "easier" type of quilt with the big squares, or jelly rolls, etc and once finished I look at it and think. WOW, I made this!!
Enough about me...........
I have been just going through and checking out pictures of different places, the eye goes to ones that have the children on them, so then I click on it and say hi! You have some mighty cute little ones there and I'll just bet Grandma, or Granny or Nema, what ever they call you- you are very special to them. How many of them have been lucky enough to get one of your quilts? We have 13 grandkids and so far I have made 9 and send them off in different families. They all seem to like the fact Grammy has made them a special quilt. But I am far from done............. I love doing them, even if they are far from perfection; it's all love!
Have a nice day! Carol W

I think you have done very well, especially if this is your first pieced block and you are doing it on your own. Congrats on your progress and good luck. I can't wait to get my pattern and kit.

I really like the colors you chose. What colors do you have planned for the rest of the quilt?

We all lack confidence at one time or another. Hang in there. You'll have lots of help! Just remember to check, recheck, & double check your measurments before cutting!!!
