While watching the evening news last night, the anchor said to the weatherman that he should bring her flowers on May Day. I thought, huh - why? I didn't ever relate May First with flowers.

Watch how you fold the fabric, as the fold should be on the straight of grain. You may have to make an initial trimming cut to even out the edges to be cut before you start cutting the 2.5" wide strips. Again, when you make this first trimming cut, make sure your ruler is perpendicular (at a right angle) to the fold.
I always cut with the fold closest to me, so that I can align the bottom edge of the ruler (or I prefer the 1" marked line on the ruler) with the folded edge of the fabric.
Does that make sense to you?
Anyway, I have the months of sunbonnet sue. The one I did was July for my mother.I didn't include the word JULY. I picked it because she loved watermellon. The one I picked for you reminds of you talking about picking apples. She is picking apples and putting them in a basket. I didn't frame it because I didn't know if you might want to use her on our quilt, a purse, etc.
I was looking at some of my designs last night (late) and I have story book/fairy tales pictures and I thought they might look good incorp. with smaller quilts, maybe for your new GB..you know how quilters are always thinking about something else to start..tehe
