Butterfly

A friend described me as butterfly because I kind of flitter around. (She meant it in a nice way.) If I see a handmade item and it makes me smile then more than likely I will try to learn how to make it. I have tried knitting and crochet and failed miserably with them even though I think they are fun. I do have some success with painting, mosaics, needle art, and wreath making. I really respect quilters and hope that I can be successful at this craft.

Well hello to you too  Beanie and thanks for the  comment.  I really did work myself to a frazzle last year.  Mission was accomplished but I was worn down and out and stayed in bed for 2 weeks after the holidays.  I managed to finish 47 quilted items for gifts for Christmas-2014. I think I had 5 table runners or baby quilts and the rest were for the beds or lap quilts.  I have already finished 4 more quilts so far this year but I am in no hurry as they are just quilts for kids or donation quilts.

I hope that you are getting some things made and enjoying yourself while you are at it. I will try to remember to check in here from time to time and see what is going on.

Well, hello to you Beanie!  I sure did miss you and I am glad to hear that you have finally finished a quilt.  When are you going to  post a picture of it?  I think I have given up on finishing a quilt for now.  I have been so busy with getting repairs/remodeling done on this house that I will be excited to see it come to an end.  We had a water line to break in the kitchen and it ruined the wall, ceiling and the floors. The sad part is that the kitchen, dining area and living room are all one large room.  Right, we had to start at the front door and redo all the floors and repaint the walls after we had some repairs of sheetrock and ceiling done.  Hubby slipped and fell in the water the night that the water was spraying everywhere and had to go to the hospital.   I am finally getting the last room finished this week and then I can start the unpacking and the putting away of everything that had to be boxed and stored.   Otherwise I am doing great! LOL LOL

Well, it sure has been a long time.  I am doing great and DH has new heart parts and is doing a lot better now. We mostly are progressing just like old folks are supposed to do.   How are you doing?  Have you gotten settled somewhere and are you quilting yet? I guess I have to say that I finally gave up on seeing any quilted items by you.  The last time I checked your site you still only had family pics and I have wondered how you were doing.  Check in a little more often and let me know what you are up to.  <HUGS!>>>

Hey Beanie, Have you got that quilt finished yet? I wish I could come and help you out there but I have trouble figuring out what to do with my DH. I wonder if I could put him in the closet until I get back?????? Naw---I don't suppose that is a good idea. I wish you would post a pic and let me see what your pattern and fabrics look like.
I really hope you had a good Christmas and I hope you will have a Great and Healthy and Happy New Year. Your new year resolution could be to finish that quilt and post some pictures of it. Hugs from Gayle....................

Hi Beanie, No my sister that lives there does not quilt. Her thing is knitting, something I cannot do.lol Have tried a number of times with her trying to teach me,just can't get it. The pictures must be your grandchildren--they are beautiful. I have 6 all in college but one and then 4 step grands and one beautiful little redheaded great grandson. He is a trip-only 15 months. 5 of my grandchildren are in other states-4 in Mich and 1 in Fla. Sure do miss them.

Hello Beanie, Just joined one of the groups you are in (Darlene's Slackers) and noticed you are from Austin. I have a sister that lives in Kyle, but works in Austin at a Co_America Bank. We were out to visit her last Aug. I loved it there-she does to-she moved from Michigan to there. Weather difference WOW!!! Hope we can be friends. Pat
