Posted on February 6, 2014 at 6:19am 4 Comments

I'm looking for a Double Irish Chain w/star in center pattern, queen size. Once a year the Lions Club ask me to make them a quilt for their fundraiser, this year they choice this quilt and I can't find my pattern. I have tried the internet but no luck, wish I could remember name of pattern or company who printed it any help out there, I need to make this one by the end of March.

Donations quilts

Posted on April 15, 2013 at 6:20am 6 Comments

I'm looking for a good place to donate the quilt my mom and I make, I try to keep her mind working and so the quilts are simple not made with the quilt shop fabric but with the fabric we have donated to us for "Warm Hugs" quilt making. Our fire department has not taken them in some year so we send them out, please give me some idea as to where now.

What happens to the photo you place in (my favorite ) all the early photo are gone, is there a limit as to how many you can save? Does anyone have answer to these question. I hate to start over I look at the photo every day and save the ones I like or thing that may teach me something later., but the folder only has 99 photo.

Hi, Becky. This is the 'Jelly Roll Race' quilt plus three borders. If you haven't seen a tutorial yet, watch the one at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qeSrX4SZnh4. I had a 40-strip black & white jelly roll that I had purchased but didn't know what I was going to do with it.  I divided it in half (10 white, 10 black in each half), then put 20 yellows/golds with one half and 20 reds with the other half so I could make two quilts.  Anyway, I DID have a method to putting the strips together.  I started with black, white, black, then 3 golds, white, black, white, 3 golds, b/w/b, 3 golds, w/b/w, 3 golds, b/w/b, 3 golds,  etc till all 40 strips were used.  Then follow the race instructions.  I wanted it a little bigger, so I put a 2" finished white border on first, then a 1" finished gold border, and lastly a 3"finished black border.  These are kind of fun!  I've made 3 so far.  Jackie O - Iowa.  P.S.  I really like your quilts/projects!

Hi Becky,

Thanks for looking at my quilt. The One Block Wonder was pretty interesting to make. This was my first. The hardest part was finding the right fabric...necessitated a lot of shopping. ;-) I just looked through your photos and you have some beautiful pieces. You do good work!

Becky the panel in my lap quilt is not preprinted, I imported the design into EQ, then printed out the size I wanted, then sprent 5 hours tracing it onto the fabric!!!!

If your friend has EQ 6 or 7, if she's interested I can send the image via e-mail, & she can print it out the size she would like. Just let me know.

Thank you for the hlp in the Hayden Frog Quilt.  Did you Piece the frogs or print them out?  I will be going out and looking for some frogs and stealing this idea.  Thank you for sharing.

Hi Becky, No, the hidden four patch is not hard... the one I did was hard(er) for me because I'm not big on piecing, the blocks were small and I used them for a LARGE twin (more like a queen) size quilt top.

Good morning Becky, I have never seen the web site you mentioned but will check it out. I do give away allot of fabric. The guild has a neiborhood group in the high school. There are 8-10 teenagers in the class. I give them fabric. I also teach an adult class here at the house and make up kits for my students. I take it to guild, along with other sewing related items and give it to anyone who wants it.

Hi Becky,  I commented on my blog on the main page, but wanted to make sure you get the info on the quilt.  It is called Double Irish Stars and it's from the book 3 Color Crazy by Paula Stoddard....I hope that helps you.  It was a fun quilt to make!

Go to Planet Patchwork, you can still print off the pattern.  I don't know how long they will have it available.  I printed mine yesterday, it was about 20 pages.  They have colored instructions - it's a good pattern.
