We are downsizing and moving. There are 2 boxes of my quilt "kits". Some are already pieced but need the applique, one just needs quilting, several are just fabrics that go good together.
I'll mail the boxes to a person or group who will use them for good.

I bought the Connecting Threads quilt kit called City View using beautiful leafy Batik fabrics. It went together in an impressive 4 hours max. Has anyone else made this and quilted it? My first thoughts were to straight line quilt it, making kind of a grid of the windows. That seems to clash with the leafy batik. Yet I don't want busy quilting to obstruct the fabric design.
Has anyone had experiences they would, or wouldn't repeat quilting up this pattern?…

It's time to clean up a few of the UFOs. Some are stuck on the shelf for a reason.
I copied the spider web pattern a few years ago, and obviously, my printer didn't get the angles quite right, so I had to adjust a bit and not all the corners are perfect. When I was ready to attach the centers they became spiders with padding and legs of wool yarn, rick rack,…

Life has gotten so busy here! I just got back my daughter's DWR from the quilter. She was married Sept. 1, 2012.
A week later, I laid it out to decide on what to bind it with and when I stopped at the quilt store, the owner said she always does a French (fold in half) binding cut on the bias for curves. I've only done one other Double Wedding Ring and a few scalloped edge quilts and always used a bias binding that I ironed to look like bias tape- machine sewing on the front hand…

Hi Bonnie! Thanks for the friend request. Are you in the Town & Country Quilt Guild? Members are from: Billings, Red Lodge, Joliet, Laurel area. We have a Bonnie is that you? That would be a fun coincidence! :)
Bonnie - I designed the quilt. I think I got the idea from another, then used my EQ7 and came up with the design. I would be happy to share it with you if you want it.
Yes Bonnie we have some creative people can use anything you send.
Hi neighbor! Great to have you as a friend.
your quilts are really pretty, and love the color, great ideas and beautiful work
Bonnie, I am glad that you suggest I look for tutorials online! Please, if you have any that are specific, let me know by all means!! I am not offended at all! I try to search online as often as I can, sometimes I just don't have the time so when someone such as yourself has specific recommendations (or reminds me to get out of the stoneage and that there is a WEB full of info) I appreciate it!
It is such a small world. I left Quincy in 1969 and have been in Reno every since. My parents remained in Quincy until their deaths which were in the 80's so we've no one left there now.
I watched the video on MSQC several times and was vasalating between doing a binding or not. My backing fabric and the outer border are the same fabric but very very bold and busy and I'm afraid that I can't get the binding to go the proper direction to coincide with the border so I was thinking of not using a binding, just joining the layers. I probably should have explained that earlier.
Thank you Bonnie for your anniversary wishes for myself and dh. I say Amen to your comment about our married children. You are welcome for sharing my blog!! Blessings!!
Bonnie, I just droped in and saw your message. I haven't been around for a while. I have had a lot of health problems. So sorry about the swap, I actually forgot I had signed up. I apologize and hope I didn't create a big problem for the members.
Myrna
