Guild meeting tonight

Gotta say I was weird-ed out tonight.  The speaker was Maggie Ball, the first part of her program was her quilts and was well presented.  The second part was a Power Point on teaching kids quilting.  The finale was her speaking about working with Mongolian women and offering them a business opportunity with teaching them to quilt.  Then she actually passed a basket around the room to collect "At least $100.00" to support her work.

I'm dawdling getting my next quilt started.  I have the sketch ready to be blown up at the copy shop.  Cash is so tight right now that it just feels indulgent to start on this piece.  I'm going to be making 2 copies of the same quilt, the first will be going to auctioned for Alzheimers at a convention in a few weeks.

I'm a costumer typically for stage and renaissance fairs.  Here are some web serials that I got to do the costumer.

I've been quilting since 1974 and have taken many fantastic classes and techniques through shops and guilds and have taught a few as well.   I belong to 2 guilds but have rarely been so ahead on projects to get them in for show & tell before they are due to be gifted.  Also I just get weird about receiving compliments, yes I know how to say "Thank You", but being on stage and the center of attention pushes my comfort levels sorely.
