THE WORLD HAS A NEW TESDAHL!! My 1st Granddaughter, Morgan

Posted on April 21, 2010 at 12:16pm 16 Comments

Morgan Nichole Tesdahl was born April 20th at 10:08pm. She weighed 8 lbs 2 ozs. She is 21-1/2" long and the most beautiful baby I have ever seen. She is pictured with her Daddy, my oldest son Zachary. I just couldn't believe after 28 hours of labor how wide awake she was.

A new member of the family!

I can't believe it but tomorrow we are looking at adding to the family. When Brandy was put to sleep I didn't think I would ever have another pet. However, a few months later and I can't stand the quiet of the house. I miss her sooo much and I know I can't replace her, but I just don't want to go without the pitter patter of paws any longer. At first I thought once we retired I'd look, then it was after a year, then it was after summer, then it was why wait? We are looking at a Shih-poo, a… Continue

Brandy my beloved pet...member of our family

Posted on November 4, 2009 at 11:20am 10 Comments

Brandy was laid to rest last Friday, Oct. 30th. It was one of the hardest decisions and days in my life. She had a tumor in/near her nasal cavity that was making it difficult for her to breath. My husband, Lon & I had every intention of dropping her off at the Vet and letting them take care of it. However, I couldn't bring myself to leave her alone and scared. I ended up holding, comforting her until the end. We are picking up her ashes today. I'm hoping having her home again will help. Cara

Cara,, I was wondering if you would share where you found the pattern for your 6,000 + scrap quilt.  It has really caught my eye, and I would love to make one.  Thanks.

Cara, hi!! You wrote Mary back a comment thanking her for letting you know the breeder that she got her pup from. I left a msg for Mary asking her what breed her pup is but have not heard back from her. Do you know and if you do would you please tell me. That is the cutest puppy I have seen in a long time. I too have poodles. They are brother and sister and turned 13 this last December. There is no sweeter more devoted dog in the world than a poodle. We had many years back a Snoodle named Little Bit. She was a sweetheart like your Brandy and it was so hard to let her go when the time came. She was independant like the Schnauzer but devoted like the poodle and they don't shed. A friend of mine has 2 yorkie poos and they are precious. Let me know what you bring home as a new member of your family!!! I will appreciate it greatly if you will let me know the breed of Mary's puppy. It actually looks like Mr Man my Poolle when he was a pup before his hair curled. Thanks, Linda

It has been a little over 15 years that we lost our poodle and hubby says he will never have another pet but that doesn't seem to stop me wanting one. We had a silver toy and I loved her. DH has had cancer and now has heart disease and doesn't want any as we never know when we might end up in the hospital for a week or two. I have thought about getting one anyway but haven't wanted to upset him. I was more curious than actually ready to buy one. I never was sure if the mixes would shed or not.

Hello, Cara--thank you for the kind words about my quilts. The wholecloth quilt is a crib or wall-hanging size. It took quite a while because the quilting is really, really dense--it was a stenciled top--check out Prairie Quilter's page for a full size one that's just beautiful. I'm working on my quilting stitching all the time--usually I quilt 6-8 stitches to the inch, but really good hand quilters can get 14-16! I can't even see that small! I hope you'll try hand quilting--to me it's the most enjoyable part of quilting. Around the Frame is a really friendly group of hand quilters on here.

Thanks Cara for the advice and words of encouragement. The pictures of your work look as though you have been quilting at least 50 years instead of just 5. It looks as though you are an expert quilter. Beautiful work!

Happy Birthday, Cara. I hope this will be a good year for you. I know losing someone can be so hard. I lost my mom almost 2 years ago and it is still difficult at times. Getting busy with quilting and meeting all you nice women here is helping me look ahead. I guess you are up to your neck in snow there in MN? We don't have much snow but it is cold where I am. However, they say by Thurs. it will be 50's. Heat wave! Work to do - by.
