Having one day to change my mind-set from a quilting retreat to a visit to Alaska to see DS & DIL-to-be, I took a deep breath and got on the plane. A full day of travel from Sacramento to Seattle to Anchorage, saw DH and I landing in the "land of the midnight sun". Actually that should read "land of the 3:00 a.m. sun!" It never got dark there and it was hard for us to get into sleep mode at our usual bedtime.

It finally arrived this morning, a little battered and scuffed, but the contents were just fine. Today, some of my quilting friends jumped in my van and travelled up to the Mountain House for a full day of quilting, chatting and munching in a sort of mini-retreat to spend some time with with each other before summer and families take over, and we don't see each other until fall.
