About Me
I am a grandmother of 8 1/2 - youngest daughter and family living with grandpa and me almost 2 years now. They will soon move on after the son-in-law finishes his diving/medic training. My first granddaughter is soon to move in and her father will soon deploy for tour of duty in Middle East. Lots of confusion and short term turmoil right now. I have been quilting for almost 35 years (mostly to keep my sanity). Trying to complete a quilt for each family and each grandchild.

Anyone do much sewing on a serger? Got one a few years ago to do a quick job on pillowcases. It is just the basic machine, but havent used it much. Still a mystery.

Yes, just joined on impulse. Love quilting but not sure how much time I have in next two months to try out this site. Thanks for the opportunity, I dont get out much due to watching my grandchildren, arthritis, and finding time to sew!

My kids signed me up for Facebook (???) - dont actually feel compeled to check it much. However, my son who is going to someplace in Middle East (Iraq or ??) said all the military personnel use it, so maybe I will do so more when family moves out of my home… Continue

Hi, Carol,

As I read your comment on my blog, I realize I didn't put in a picture of just the block.

Thank you for the honor of your friend request. I gladly accept.

Hello Carol. Hope this finds you hail and hearty. We have actually gone several days with no new snow! It would be nice to get some warm weather, but from what I understand, we are getting some more snow this weekend. Sheesh. Oh well, the old snow is getting dirty, time to put a new clean layer on it. :0) I still haven't gotten to the bottom of my mess to be able to start sewing, but I have hopes. LOL Take care and happy quilting, Dot

Sounds like your house would be the fun house with kids! I do like only watching them 2 days a week. Once all the snow is done I'll watch three days. Our daughter lives 40 mins. away and I won't drive it in snow. It just started to snow and they say 8-10"by noon tomorrow. I just asked my husband to take me tomorrow. We'll see if it's that bad mabe I won't have to go in. I also have a serger and don't really use it. I plan on making myself use it this year. Have a good day and try to sew. Kathy Marie

Hi Carol,
Welcome as my first friend. I've been only quilting for 2 1/2 yrs. but I've been sewing for about 50 yrs. Boy, that seems so long when you write it out. I didn't sew as much for a few years when I was busy with the kids. We have three grandkids, one grandson and two granddaughters. The granddaughter are 10 days apart. Grandson is 2 1/2yrs and the girls are 4 months. They keep me busy so I know how little time you have for sewing. I watch our sons two, two days a week since he's still in school (going for his PHD) plus working full time and his wife works full time. So us mamo's as our grandson calls me help out as much as we can.
Just wanted to say Hi an glad to have you as a friend. Kathy Marie

Hello again,
We live in Sheboygan on Lake Michigan. And yes, it is cold, dreary and snowy here, also. I've been ill since the day after Christmas, (just cold stuff - annoying more than anything else), so I haven't been doing anything to mention. I was hoping to get some sewing done before I go back to work next week, but I don't think I'm going to get any done. :o( Well, that is one of my resolutions, so I'll keep trying to work it in. lol Take care.

Hi Carol, Nice to meet a fellow Wisconsiner. I probably won't be on here very often, either. But wanted to wish you a Happy New Year.
