Neonatal Nurse Practitioner for 19 yrs. An RN for 35yrs. Want to retire just so I can quilt. I am a mother of three and a grandmother of 3.
I love quilting and I am especially interested in art quilts. I have been quilting for ~ 7 years. Have more fabric than should be allowed in one home (according to my husband). I sew on a Bernina 830 and 185 and have a Gammill long arm machine. Love making baby quilts too as they are much quicker than the larger versions. I would get bored if I had to do the same quilt many times in a row.

Hi Carol...I will go on retreat the end of this month...am jumping around different WIP's...specifically focused on hand appliquing Dresden plates to background borders but need to start hoppin' on cutting out 5" squares for an exchange...I've got alot to cut...better get to it!
Hi Carol, I'm also a nurse. Public Health for the last 17years. For 6years I worked at the Shriners Burns Center in Boston; burned kids form all over the world.
I've also had my Gammill about 5 years. I just got a larger sewing room and we moved the Gammill up a set a stairs. Quite a day to remember.
I make baby and kids quilts when I need to put my self on autopilot. I give them to the Linus Project. I make them for boys as I had a son and they say that most quilters like to make sweet pretty quilts for girls. Mine have lots of trucks and bugs, and dinosaurs.
I'm retired now which is WONDERFUL!! I quilt all the time I'm not hanging with friends. Good luck with your quilting and with your work!! Martha Jordan Alfred Station,NY
