About Me
I live in a small town in Ohio and we just celebrated our 43rd wedding anniversary. We have 2 adult children and one granddaughter who's my pride and joy. I've been quilting for just about 10 years. I'm still learning (so don't look too close) but I really enjoy trying new techniques. Last year, I was fortunate and honored to have been chosen as a member of Quiltmaker Magazine's Scrap Squad. It was quite an adventure; I learned a lot and had lots of fun!

Adding pictures

Anyone else have this problem?

I can add pictures to my page and I can add a picture to my comments in my groups.  But I can't add a picture to individual messages or to a blog post on the main page or to a comment on a main page post.  I use Internet Explorer and when I try it says that the website has experienced a problem and IE needs to shut down.  Then it does and reopens the page but without my typed comment.  Suggestions…

Can anyone help?

Posted on May 7, 2012 at 5:08pm 5 Comments

I've started a mystery quilt using some neutral fabric I bought at CT quite some time ago on clearance -- don't even know what the collection was nor the name of the fabric.  It is a white background with beige basket weave pattern.  I need about 1/4 yard more or I'll have to make a substitution -- and since it's a mystery I don't know where would be a good place to substitute!  My picture's not good but if anyone would be willing to sell a quarter yard or so, I'd be thrilled!  Thanks!…

Quilt barn block

Posted on February 20, 2012 at 7:37am 8 Comments

Help please, ladies.

Some time ago - okay quite a long time ago - the Golden Thimble website had a free BOM of Quilt barns.  The pattern for the barn was the same on each block but there was an opening to insert a quilt block (as rural barns are often decorated).  The quilt consisted of 9 blocks with 9 different 4-1/2" inserts.  I have finished 8 blocks and in going through my UFO's I found them and thought this would be an easy quilt to finish up.

However.....I have misplaced…

The new Scrap Squad reveals have started. There was one in the magazine, one last week, and mine today. Take a look! One is a holiday quilt and it makes me feel all peppermint and sugarplums! Mine has an autumn palette....only one more pattern to go!

New Scrap Squad being formed

Posted on November 1, 2011 at 11:03am 5 Comments

As many of you know, I was privileged to have been chosen as a member of Quiltmaker Magazine's first Scrap Squad 2011.  Our term is almost up as we are working on our final project.  It apparently was a successful first endeavor because the magazine is forming a new group for 2012.  The announcement…

I am gathering photos of my dollhouse items to post.  I was initially on a photo hosting site called Webshots but they started charging a monthly fee.  I guess I could post them in an album on this site (maybe calling the album "Other Crafts" or something like that).  I mostly make dollhouse accessories, and even made some miniature clothing that was featured in "Miniature Collector" about a year ago.

Hi Carol and thanks for the thoughts and prayers. I came home Sunday evening and do feel better but I have 4weeks of doing nothing to go. I really am resting better but get tired so easy. Keep up the prayers and I will chat later on a bit more.

Hey Carol,

Remember that Coshocton Show  --well it isn't held in May anymore. Only in August @ the Fairgrounds.

I will remind you when it gets closer.

So  I went into the Main Street Mercantile & bought some marked down fat 1/4's & directions for a quilt.

later,

Patsy

Hi Carol,

Thank you so much for checking out my Classic Folk Art BOM.  It is a Vicki MacGowen pattern from Quakertown Quilts in Texas.  I loved working on it.  I have a few smaller projects to get finished.  Then, I'll work on "Imperial Splendour", a JoAnne BOM from a few years back.  I like samplers too - because of the variety of techniques.

Thank you. I am looking forward to getting to know the Ohio Quilt Group.  It's good to have someone to talk quilting with and learn from.

I am sure you do have that stitch on your machine.  Mine is a Bernina, but this is a utility stitch.  It is 4 straight stitches one direction, then 4 stitches the other direction.  Makes a nice strong, rather stretchy line of stitches so the stitches don't pop easily when used in mending.  I love it on baby quilts because it goes so fast and is very forgiving!!!  Don't have to be so accurate as with stitch in the ditch!!

Hi Carol, I love Nancy Drew, too, and just couldn't resist the fabric. I have some of the work done and I will share a photo when I complete the top!
