Carol, I am doing a ditto on what Cheryl said. Come on back to the slackers~~ we miss you and seeing you put up 2 blocks to our one and all. I think it has been about 2 months since you come over to play with us. Please come back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tell DD keep trying. I did Dairy Princess and FFA sweetheart contests in High School. I never won but I only did them my senior year. If I had done Dairy Princess again I may have done better. I think a big part of the contests is knowing what to expect during them.
Carol, I'm sorry to hear of the sad death of your neighbor girl. It hits close to home when they are the near the same age as our kids and also when they are someone we know well. So heartbreaking for family and friends. On top of that I read you had fair week coming up. I don't know if keeping busy will be helpful or hard on you. I remember when my 2 year old nephew died some years ago, I kept thinking at the time that it didn't seem right that life just, well, went on. It felt like time should stop a little bit or even slow down, but it didn't. Just want you to know I've been thinking about you. I hope you are hanging in there.
We had a funeral this week also, but it was of a different sort. In this case the homegoing was for a 90-something beautiful Christian lady who lost a battle with cancer. She was one of the most upbeat, positive people I knew and yet she was tired and ready to go home. It wasn't quite as sad of an occasion as yours where a life had been taken too soon.
