My next project

Posted on June 8, 2013 at 3:45pm 4 Comments

Well now that I have finished the table runner I have another project.  Today I ordered some fabrics in blues and greens to make this Half-Square Triangle Fun quilt.  I used the design table to choose my fabrics and I think it will look great.  I think that this will make a great Christmas gift but I don't know who I will give it to yet.  Well I still have at least six months to think about it.  I'll be posting pictures.  : )…

A gift for my Friend

Posted on March 24, 2013 at 1:06pm 10 Comments

I have decided some time ago that every gift I give should be handmade- I can sew, quilt, knit to name a few so why waste time going to store to shop when I can do it from home, online at Connecting Threads (or Knit Picks for knitting).  I choose a pattern, buy the fabric and wait for the postman to deliver everything to me.  My best friend Lyne is having a birthday in late May so I decided to make a table runner for her.  I bought the Morning Glory Runner pattern (from two sisters at…

New Challenge

On the weekend, I started a paper piecing course - I just love it.  Seems so complicated but in the end it is so easy.  I will post a picture of my project when it is finished.  Thanks Connecting Threads for all the great fabrics.  ; )

Hello Carole,

I was just reading your message on the Discussion page regarding the 9-patch block.  It looks like your 9-patch is a 6-inch square block, that is, if the squares were first cut as 2-1/2 inch squares, then sewn together, and they'd made a 6-inch strip.  So to make the top row, you will need a 6-1/2 inch rectangle to attach to the 2-1/2 inch squares on each side.

I hope this helps.

Regards - Aida
