I love sewing, quilting, applique, knitting and other needlework, also jewelry-making. I work for our church, in worship service planning and administering our traditional music groups, and taught quiltmaking at Pieceful Heart Fabrics in Lisle, IL until it closed in June 2013. I'm a longarm quilter, and do quilting for others, as well as commission work. Violinist, photographer, gardener, bicyclist, mom of 4, grandmother of precious JD. Married to Steve since 1976. One daughter just got married in June 2013 so things have been a little crazy! Two weeks later our other daughter moved out, and our boys are long gone. So we are now empty nesters and I have a lovely new studio.

It's a really busy time at work - I work in the music and worship department of a large church, so you can imagine what this month is like. Lots of fun, but also lots of work. Very rewarding, though, too. Steve had to work very early this morning and I had a rehearsal...so last night after work I drove up to the area where he works, we had a nice dinner at our favorite Chinese place, stayed overnight on the concierge floor of the Marriott, then he snuck out real early and I got to sleep a while longer and have a nice breakfast before heading out into the snow for the drive back to church. Roads were fine, til I turned in to church, and slid into a big snowbank. No damage, and I was able to back out immediately. Phew. Tonight our oldest took us out to Red Lobster for dinner, and that was yummy and fun and great conversation. Gosh, that kid turned out good! 8^)
Caroljoy, hope you have a very Happy Birthday and all the best in the year ahead. Enjoy your day. Hope you also have a very Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year! Love your quilts. What a beautiful job you do.
Caroljoy, I love your DJ, I love your colors too, I'm way way impressed. After taking the entire summer off from working on it, I have just 16 more square blocks and all of my squares will be done. Then only tri's left to do. I'm putting mine tog as I go. I started it 29 July 2008. When snow flies, I'll be busy on it again. Or sooner, we'll see. Thanks for sharing your Jane, I'd like to see more pics of it. Wow you do great work.
