About Me
Been quilting for fun and gifts for long time. Retired in June after many years working as a nurse. It is great to have time to finish projects. However, I do very much miss the patients I worked with in a busy cardiology practice. I have completed kits I purchased when attending Thimbleberries Club I am ashamed to say how long ago. I made tee shirt quilt for friend's daughter. I made quilt for my sister who had a big birthday and is a 10 yr breast cancer survivor. Made table runners for sisters and nieces for Christmas. Made a Christmas quilt for friend with big birthday and table runner for daughter. I am here to tell you I did all of that without purchase of any fabric except for some backings. I am enjoying having the time to finish projects and plan for the New Year. Also made baby quilts for sister's new twin grandbaby girls. I had to purchase fabric for those. My sewing has been very helpful during the transitions from 50 hour week at work to no hours at work. I have plans for adding photos in the future.

Thread and birds

Posted on March 7, 2009 at 1:36pm 3 Comments

It is in the 70's in mid eastern Missouri. I save my thread all winter to aid the birds in nest building. Laid them out on split rail fence today when we saw the bluebirds looking at houses. Even if the bluebirds do not use the thread others will.

Thank you for your encouragement, Carole. I've been pleased with most of our healthcare workers, but now and then... well, you know. I really tried to not blame the tech helping us -- none of it was her doing or fault and I was glad she checked BEFORE we got started.
