About Me
I have been quilting for almost 30 years. I do a lot of machine piecing, but prefer to quilt by hand. Most of my quilts are bed size (queen and king) so it takes awhile to get them quilted. I use either a hand/lap frame or a floor frame to do the quilting.
Hobbies and Interests
quilting, applique, paper piecing, hand quilting, gardening
My Pets
We are owned by four cats.

The Yearly Physical

Went to the Doc today for my yearly visit. Went over all the blood work reports, and he is recommending a test that I will be taking next January since the insurance will probably not pay for it and at least then I can claim it on the cafeteria plan and get reimbursed for it. (Is is really reimbursement since the money is withheld from the paycheck to start with?) He wants me to start taking a daily aspirin, and to increase my Vitamin D3 to 2,000 units per day (wants me to increase it for DH als… Continue

Cat Lady MO, I just knew that it wasn't just a story about cats. But, your story tells me it's not every cat. It's pretty special. But, you read books about people being afraid of cats in the Victorian age. Making the lap dog the pet to have. Then in other ages they worship cats. I knew that pets can be train but having that other special thing I sure dogs or other pets have it too. But, cats seems to have them beat. I have read so many stories. But, were they real? But, then I know of a nursing home that has a rather large cat. Now, at the time I hadn't seen Cats101, so I didn't pay much attention to what kind of cat this was, but I tell you I have seen smaller dogs. He wasn't over weight. But, the RN there told me that cat knew when a person was going to die. He would go in and stay with them until they died which ranged from 24 to 48 hours. Now, CL, I thought how awful to myself. She went on to tell me that she too thought at first how sad, for the people seeing the cat who had a prefect record, come in. No, it was just the other way around. Others would see the cat go into the room and go in to say their good byes . The RN's would take extra care to make the day as nice as they could and calling in family and friends. The person would feel better about having the cat stay with them with the warm cat right close to their faces and that sound of the purring seem to help. I couldn't help myself, CL, I had to ask, what does the cat do if no one is going to die, just walk around the place? The cat would stay at the front desk and was the first thing a newbie saw. So, I thought I would ask you if you had a story too. And Bingo you did! Of course the story was told to me about the Death Cat but while I was there the cat just was there at the front desk. Like the RN told me. Happy that that day he was there. But, I wondered how true was it?

You put in a lot of time on this site. I would say that you know your stuff, and make the site really good. Really! Thanks.

Well thank you Cat lady! I am visually impaired. I have very little light in my right eye caused by a detatch retna and the left eye had optic nerve damage amongs a few other issues. I am a very stubborn person that doesn't believe and "can't". So I do what I can, when my eyes allow me to and enjoy every moment I can! Life is good! :-) (could be worse!lol) Tks again.
