Profile Information

Hi! I'm Chris, a PT WAHM from Wisconsin. I have two daughters, Molly (age 7) and Maggie (age 5). I started sewing about three years ago, and my favorite projects are bags/totes and wall hangings.

One of my goals for this year is to make a seasonal WH for each month. So far, I've made a witch for October, a batik turkey for November, a snowman for December, and the snowflake/mitten WH from the Febuary Quilter's World for January.

My younger DD loves twirly skirts, so I've made a lot of those. And, of course, you can't have a twirly skirt without a matching purse, hair scrunchie and appliqued t-shirt, so I've made a lot of those too. :)

We have had four showings this week but no offers so far. We are planning to live in the McFarland area. My DH grew up in De Forest. Hopefully we will be moving soon! Stay warm.

Thanks for the info on the tote. I don't get the Fons and Porter show, so I'll check out a website for them.. Maybe I'll find something there. - Jane

Great idea for the bag base - my DH is a general contractor - has a charge card for Home Depot - I'll have to send him there.

Thanks for all the welcomes. I'm currently working on a snowman/heart throw blanket (it started as a WH, but kept growing). My older DD turns 8 on the 8th next month, so I'm making her a special birthday WH. I'm also taking a BOM class at a LQS. Oh, and I need a tote to hold my laptop and all my files for the days I work at work, so my next bag project will be to tackle the professional tote pattern.

Good luck selling your house Kelly! Do you know where in Madison you're moving to? Let me know when you move, and I'll take you on a tour of all the LQSs.

Hi Chris -
I am also a SAHM with a 5 year old and 3 year old. We live in Milwaukee but will be moving to Madison as soon as we sell our house. You will have to let me know where to find the best quilt shops.

Welcome to our group. I''m Sandy from Ohio, one of many from Ohio.
Do you have a project that you're working on now, what? I'm making yet another scrap quilt using the pinwheel block. Just have one more border to add before layering and quilting. Machine quilting is the best part though I haven't a clue how I will quilt it yet. Will have to look at it for awhile for some inspriation. Any suggestions?
